I am cured, I have to say. I used to love softwares. I had hundreds of useless software installed in my computer. Then I stopped doing that and began to upgrade the computer. My computer is now a notebook, and you just can't upgrade that much. So I have stopped doing that as well. I am happy with my computer and software now.

I actually love both, though I am in software field. How will I be able to run my software if there had not been any hardware? How will I use my software if there had not been any hardware? The two always go together. Ok? :P

I can't really choose between the two. Of course, I have a lot more software than hardware, but you can't do much with it minus the hardware. I recommend nothing less than 512 MB RAM for Windows XP, and will use nothing less than 1 GB myself, while I wouldn't use or recommend anything less than 2 GB for Vista, which uses 4 times as much RAM as Windows XP when running idle (768 MB, compared to 192). I will not use, nor will I recommend AMD processors. Intel has too much of an advantage, and also uses faster cache memory in their processors. Today's Intel models outperform AMD's equivalents in both performance and low power consumption. Not only is Intel a better investment, but it actually proves cheaper than AMD in the long run, thanks to superior efficiency. Yet no matter how suped up your system is, Windows' service host and update processes, along with countless other narcissistic, poorly-written third-party bloatware, will hog up your CPU's cycles and freeze your system, if you don't have a "big brother" keeping them in line. One of the MVPs in my system is Process Lasso, which jumps in and lowers the priority of processes that think, for whatever bizarre reason, that they need 80-100% of processing power to themselves, often to perform the tiniest little jobs. I also use Perfect Disk as my disk defragmenter, as I'm not one to undermine the increase in stability from one good, offline defrag. And to help clean up the programs themselves, I use good, old Norton WinDoctor. I have formal, classroom training in business and clerical office skills, so I appreciate the feature-based value of M$ Office over its open source alternatives, whose advocates will overlook what's lacking and attempt to claim that they are better, if only because they offer more file formats for the same documents (big whoop). For security, I use the free McAfee SecurityCenter from AOL (available to all who use Windows 2000, XP, or Vista), Arovax Shield to guard browser settings and the registry, and Windows' own advanced file security permissions to lock the kernel to ROM. :)

Well I think hardware & software are 2 sides of coin, softwares cant be run without hardware & if you have only hardware without any software then its useless. Well I like both I am IT professional so I like to do designing, animation, 3Ds, programming, listening music, playing games etc. In hardware I like DVD Writer, Ram, Pen Drive, ofcourse motherboard, printer, scanner etc.

How can one just love hardware or software because if you have no software you might as well trash your hardware and vice versa ... I like high end systems and put a lot of effort into bringing my computer to top notch so that I can play all the games the best way possible
