Metal or rock music? I prefer the simple and hard rock music as you mentioned its sounds in history of music is everlasting ;-) Rock on my friend.

rock is much more melodic and sensible in the array of options you can take to form alternatives like jazz-rock, blues-funk, fusion, etc.
