Hello, I work in Night shifts for few months recently. I feel that working in Night shift is better than the regular shifts. This is because, I dont need to get into the traffic problems, Dust problems, etc. Also the salary too is better than the people at the regular shifts. What do you feel about this ?

I wish you good luck to get your first job very soon. Also for the first job, you dont need to look for whether its a night or day shift. Go for it and you can decide that after few years. Thanks for your response.

My husband works nights right now. I don't like it. It seems like he has to sleep more to get enough rest when he's sleeping during the day. I have to work harder with my 18 month old to keep him quiet while Daddy is sleeping, too. It doesn't seem very fair that he never gets the chance to be noisy during the day anymore. When my son was really small and still slept all the time, my husband was on nights, too. I worked during the day, so it worked out for us financially, because the baby didn't have to go to daycare. My husband just had to get up and feed him every few hours during the day, just like I did at night. I had the baby up playing and doing tummy time and stuff in the mornings before I went to work and in the evenings after I got off work. But now that my son is older and doesn't sleep as much, I stay home with him. I wish my husband would go back to day shift soon.

You are right. Night shifts are not suitable for the people who have small children to take care of. Its still worse when both the husband and wife go to work at different times of the day. Thanks for your response.

When I worked as a staff nurse in a hospital I preferred to work the the 3-11 shift, or the 11-7. Yes there was a bonus in pay for working those hours, but the big reason for me was that during the daytime hours the nursing staff is working around all the other deptments such as xray, lab, pt and such. Also doctors and visitors. The whole feel of the floor and patients was different during the late evening and night hours.

As long as you feel comfortable with the Night shift, I would say Night shift is the best time to work. Thanks for the response.

Dear senthil2k, By profession, I am an accountant. Therefore I had no opportunity and need to work in the night shift. In fact I feel more energetic during night than day. But out of 365 days I did work 200 days in my house upto 2 am to complete my accounts jobs that I brought from office.

Yes you miss the pollution and the traffic but don't you also miss the fun people have in the daytime - while you are resting?

Thats true. Thats one of the disadvantage of working in the night shift. But nowadays there a lot of fun in the nights also, which can be enjoyed by the people working at night shifts, which the day shift people miss . Thanks for the response.
