How are the school supplies distributed at your child's school? I have heard some schools are making it a trend to do community supplies. Everyone sends in lots of supplies & they sort of go into a big pile for everyone to share. What do you think of this? How would you feel if your school did that?

well i dont know about the whole school in genral, but i went and picked up one of those lists they have scattered at all the local department stores. and i went and bought eveything on the list for my little first grader. she got all this new and wonderful stuff. she was so excited about having new supplies for her first full year in school... well yesterday ( the day before the first day of school) i got a note from her teacher informing me of what she should bring...backpack, pencil case and lunch. she didnt ask for crayons or markers or pencils or eraser or glue sticks or tissues and hand santizer etc etc all the other trhings that i had purchased. when i simply asked why she responded with i will suppl all my students with the neccsitie items. your more than welcome to send in the other items. they will be place in a bin along with any other "donations" that opther students bring in and they will be shared amongst all her classmates... i think that this is a good way to go about doing things... its easier on the parents and instead of running around trying to find all these things on the "list" they just send in what they can to help all the students...
