I am an anti-chemical campaigner, so don't use any chemicals or shampoo for dandruff problem. I found a very effective way of removing dandruff and adding sheen to the hair. It is lime juice. Once every month, I would apply lime juice on my hair 15 minutes before the bath. The idea is to apply it to the scalp rather than the hair and let it settle for around 15 minutes. I wouldn't recommend for more than 15 minutes though. Then I wash it off. I have been using this for the last 10 years and have found it more effective than any shampoo in the market. And to boot it is perfectly free of chemicals!!
Cheers!

To combat dandruff, white vinegar is a good idea. It works wonder.
Massage the distilled white vinegar into the scalp. Allow it to dry for several minutes after massage. Wash the hair as usual. Do it daily until dandruff disappears.

first of all. take a bath everyday to retain sufficient moisture of your scalp. do not use different kinds of shampoo. what i mean is use only 1 shampoo for a long period of time. also, using anti dandruff shampoo helps in controlling it but it doesnt remove it constantly since factors may again precipitate sloughing of the scalp. it is also true that having long hair that is not properly managed is at higher risk to dandruff than those having short hair that's why short hair is more ideal to avoid dandruff. antifubngal shampoos such as selsun blue, clear, head and shoulder, gard, etc.. may help but in severe cases of dandruff it is always advisable to see a dermatologist to know what he/she can contribute in managing dandruff.

Hello!.dandruff?...it is due to carelessness.most women do not take as much care of the cleanliness of their hair as they do of their clothes.this is ironical.it is important that you follow a regular cleansing routine for your hair.for cleaning hair, use anti-dandruff shampoo to get rid of dandruff.although the main cause of dandruff is lack of cleaning, some times it occurs due to an infection.so have your personal towel, combs and hair brush.also, keep the combs, brush and towel clean.this will do good to you.

Make sure you don't use any lotions without essential oils, such as Emu oil.

I used to have dandruff before what i did is wash with a dandruff shampoo then clense it up very well. Sometimes its cause by shampoo left on the scalp. Shampoo every other day because your scalp is dry and needs some oil on it. Avoid sweating too much. Hope it helps or if it doesnt work better try to be bald once and let hair grow again so u'll be able to clean your scalp and healthy hair will grow.

Hi! I found this form a website and thist could be of help.
Dandruff can disappear suddenly without treatment or may take multiple weeks of treatment to improve.
- Prevention of dandruff may be achieved by shampooing regularly with a mild, non-medicated shampoo. The scalp should be massaged gently to loosen flakes and the hair and scalp rinsed thoroughly
- Anti-dandruff shampoos containing coal tar, pyrithione zinc, salicylic acid or selenium sulfide are available without a prescription. (Specific products may be recommended by a physician or pharmacist.)
- Stronger anti-dandruff shampoos and lotions are also available by prescription.
- If the flaking skin is isolated in one area or in multiple areas, then the condition may be a skin problem other than dandruff and a physician should be notified.
