I am using a 768 mb of random acssess memory (RAM) with dual boot operating sytem windows xp servicepack 3 and windows vista business edition. I have no problems with windows xp servicepack 3 but when I use vista my pc becomes a little slow when browsing the internet or doing some graphical work. I am planing to increase my RAM in next month and I will add an graphocs card to my system for better performence.

I currently have 1 Gb of RAM, which is appropriate for the Pentium 4 3 GB processor that accompanies it.
RAM is of little value without processing power and the same applies to processing power without RAM, so a harmonious balance between the 2 is required.
I do not understand why your browser should be slow to open, it hardly takes a great deal of RAM to support such a basic operation. When I was using a Pentium 3 500 Mb processor with 128 Mb of RAM I had no such problems.

I've got 512 mb + 256 mb so that makes a total of 760 mb RAM for my PC. It makes things easier and faster for sure. I'm looking to upgrade it even further replacing the 256 mb with another 512 mb RAM and make it full 1gb. I play games with high system requirements so 1 gb RAM would really enhance the gameplay for me.

I am using 1 x 2GB DDR2-800 Buffalo Select Ram in my Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 rig running Windows XP 64-bit.
My seconday rig uses 2 x 256MB DDR333 OCZ RAM w/heatspreaders OC'ed to DDR400 coupled with an AMD Athlon64 3000+ running Kubuntu 10.1.
My 2GB DDR2 RAM is ultra fast and it only cost me $18 new. The 512MB of DDR RAM that I use is completely adequate for my other system, but it cost me $80 way back when. RAM performance has really improved and prices have come a long way down. A very good combination for system builders like me. :)

hello, I am using 512 MB Ram, because I am using high graphical as well as programming languages, email server software, 3d animation softwares. It takes much memory for processing. Like higher Processor , Ram should be higher for smooth working of your PC & PC applications.
I am always suggesting higher processor with higher ram for faster process.

The one in our living room which is used to access the internet currently has 512 MB of RAM on it. I wish it was more, just because any little bit of speed would help, but still.
The one in my room, which isn't connected to the internet, has less than 200 MB of RAM. I'm not quite sure how that's possible, but it has 196 MB or something. It runs quite slowly, but luckily, I don't make it too very many hard tasks. It's just there for a writing computer.

I use 256 megabytes of ram but my computer is too slow. The problem is that the kind of memory i use is quite old. 133 mhz, and this type isn't easy to find in hardware shops. In any case i must buy almost 1gb of memory ram because now i can't play games on my pc!
