i would say... my mom. she cooks for me and my sister all the time, especially when we were just little kids. she can cook a lot of yummy different food/dishes. she also loves to bake. and I do love to eat anything she cooks and bakes. I've learned a lot from her, now I'm proud to say that I'm getting as good as she is when it comes to those stuff.

When I was younger I was not interested in cooking. I thought I didn't like cooking and didn't have the patience for it. My mother would sometimes have me help her cook and she would try to tell me how to do things but I was not interested. It wasn't until I moved on my own that I was interested in cooking, after all I had no choice but to learn. I remembered watching my mother when I was younger and when I started cooking I just remembered the things she did. So I learned it by watching her.

my mom use to leave notes on me regarding what meal i have to prepare for lunch of dinner.. it all started when i was still in grade school, and we dont have someone do the cooking since my both parents are working that time, since i often left at home i was in charge in cooking.. i just follow the recipes written by my mom... and if i'm familiar on how it taste and what it looks like as my mom do it i do the same thing.. but still my mom cooks better than me.. :)

I myself taught me cooking, luohuan1987, or perhaps you can say that experience taught me the cooking. I did take help from my mother and wife by asking them on phone but you know recipe doesn't make a great cook by itself. So, I learnt by myself, perhaps that's why I cook so bad that I would be the last person to eat my own cooked food.
But, I do have improved a little bit in some dishes. At, least I can eat them. When my wife came to join me here and stayed for a while, I used to cook sometimes and she used to praise my cooking but I know that she was doing it out of courtesy, lol! I wished I could cook like my mother or my partner but still I know that I would enjoy their cooking more than any other body's cooking! They are great cooks:-)

Hi. I definetly got my basic cooking skills from my mom. And the rest as I grew, came from me experimenting with herbs, spices, and different foods, eg; mutton, pork, chicken, beef, the variety of veges, pastas and rices, sauces, spices and herbs...

Hi luohuan1987! :) It was my mom who taught me how to cook. We had a food business so she really had a great way in cooking! :) And also, my Dad is a great cook. Usually, every Mondays till Saturdays, Mama is the one who cooks, while on Sundays, it's my father. :)
I also learned how to cook by reading cooking books and experimenting on recipes. But I know that I still have a loooong way to learn to become expert in cooking. *hehe*
And ei, you're right about that. Since you're on vacation, it's really a great time to learn a new skill: like cooking. *wink-wink*
take care and God bless!
