What to do about strays and ferals

Sometimes I feel like I am a 1 woman army trying to save all the stray and feral cats in my neighborhood, get them spayed or neutered and find them homes. There are two male stray or (feral) cats running around the neighborhood that keep getting all the females pregnant, then those baby females grow older and they get pregnant. I feel like I am fighting a never ending battle trying to catch cats to get them spayed and neutered and find them homes. I can't catch the two males and I hate to call animal control on them, but I'm getting close to that point. I don't know what else to do. I put food out for the females and kittens because I can't bear to just let them starve, but I'm not made of money and the food, litter, and trying to get them spayed and neutered are costing me an arm and a leg. Any suggestions out there from all you cat lovers?

Have you tried relatives or friends who may be willing and able to help you? They could contribute to getting them fixed and helping you find homes for them.

First, good for you in trying to help these poor animals. It frustrates me to no end when people don't take care of their pets. Second, is there an animal rescue group near you? They might be able to help you out. Good luck and those kitties are lucky to have you. :-)
