Of course the most important influence at the moment to choose a movie to watch, is the mood we are in. Still, as there exist literally thousands of films, there are many more objective factors when preferring a movie:
The genre, the topic, the cast, the director, the script or the original book... In my case it's more often the cast or the director that determine the election. Thanks for sharing your personal way of choosing a movie :)

I like a lot of different types of movies, so I'm not really sure what draws me to a movie.
There are some actors and actresses I would watch in anything, so of course the cast is often a factor. =p
Honestly I think the other big thing that draws me is what other people I know have said about it. I have some friends with similar tastes to mine who often see movies as soon as they come out, and since I rarely do so, I usually have a list of things they've recommended.
Also, if the critics hated it, I want to see it. Just because. =p

Personally for me, it does really often depend on the mood I am in, plus what has just come out on video that I might be really interested in seeing. There are certain movies sometimes with certain actors that are usually a guaranteed must see. It just depends for me if I have the time to watch them as well.
