how can you make your discussion part of the "today's top discussions"?

Can anyone help? I have noticed there is a section on today's top discussions, but I do not understand how it works. I have one discussion going on at the moment, relating to the best PTC sites. It got 11 replies so far. I have noticed there are other discussions on the top list with less replies. Why? What do you think about the whole thing?

As far as i know, when you have a post running in mylot, if anybody respond to that it comes uo on the todays top discussion, but it is for a small time so may be we often miss it on the top of the list as there are thousands of members and they are always replying to each other and if a discussiion is of many persons interest then they all are replying to that oe again and again and it stay o the top for a while, but it constantly change. Is it something good?
