I live in a popular tourist ättraction"- the Jersey shore. Today I have been ready to go to work but I haven't been able to leave for two hours because the traffic heading to the beach passes my house and I can't get out of the driveway. Usually it is heavy on Friday, with people arriving after work for the week end or the week- but I can't help wondering how could it be relaxing to travel for miles and miles and hours on a hot day like this (in the 90's) for a vacation? Wow, seems kind of sad. What are your experiences with vacation- ever do this?

To each his own about vacations I guess. Not everyone has the opportunity to live close by a beach or lake or even places like the Jersey shore that have a good history and attraction. For those who don't live close, it is a well deserved and well invested trip to make a mini vacation out of it. I think it sucks to have to deal with all the traffic you have to face living down there. In Southern California it gets like that in the summers. I sympathize with you.

I work within blocks of the beach but I never get to it. I lied in California for about 8 years and was close to the water all that time. I loved it. Its beautiful there. And this is nice too, i just can't imagine going through all that to relax. But thousands of people think otherwise.
