Have you ever had a skin cancer scare?

I am sitting on pins and needles because my hubby had to have a mole biopsied on his back. We won't know the results until next week at the earliest. Of course, like most men he thinks it's "no big deal", but I am pretty scared. Have you or someone you know ever gone through this?

My mother-in-law had a mole removed that was cancerous. I am fair like her, but it seems she has the wrong type of fairness even though her hair was dark like mine was. And I think my father=in-law may have gotten it as well, but he worked in the field a lot when he was young. No one in my family ever got skin cancer, although my brother got Hodkins Disease but I guess that doesn't count. I guess I got the Mediterranean type pink skin while my mother-in-law had the Celtic type pink skin. They always talk about blue eyed and green eyed faired skinned redheads and blonds, but never about those who have brown or brunette hair.
