An 80 year old man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45 years old highly educated son. Suddenly a crow perched on their window. The Father asked his Son, "What is this?" The Son replied "It is a crow". After a few minutes, the Father asked his Son the 2nd time, "What is this?" The Son said "Father, I have just now told you "It's a crow". After a little while, the old Father again asked his Son the 3rd time, What is this?" At this time some ex-pression of irritation was felt in the Son's tone when he said to his Father with a rebuff. "It's a crow, a crow". A little after, the Father again asked his Son t he 4th time, "What is this?" This time the Son shouted at his Father, "Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times 'IT IS A CROW'. Are you not able to understand this?" A little later the Father went to his room and came back with an old tattered diary, which he had maintained since his Son was born. On opening a page, he asked his Son to read that page. When the son read it, the following words were written in the diary : "Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa, when a crow was sitting on the window. My Son asked me 23 times what it was, and I replied to him all 23 times that it was a Crow. I hugged him lovingly each time h e asked me the same question again and again for 23 times. I did not at all feel irritated I rather felt affection for my innocent child".

We should be paitence enough. In this world, there is no time for sharing our ideas between family members.Every body become commerical minded person. Each intention is to earn money as much as they can.Even in weekends, the day is going as the regular day itself.Nobody is caring for others. But i am lucky to have good parents with me.Like the father character in the story my father also reply whenever we ask queries, even this applicable to my mother too. So,we feel happy to have them. Comparing with old generation with new generation, old generation people have lot of love and affection towards other. They even come to the people who are in need and give a helping hand to solve the problems in a nice and efficient manner, but if the same situation occurs in new generation, they wont even come near to us.Love and affection are decreasing gradually.Individuality is becoming more popular now a days than love and affection. So,what to do we have adjust ourselves and do the things done accordingly. Here father is having the capacity to understand others but son doesn't have.As he is small, thats why he doesn't have that capacity to understand where as father is old enough to understand his feeling,so he responded to him paitently.Even his son would do the same when he also becomes a father.

Thank you Sudha for appreciating the story. Throughout history the the social values has been changed from generation to generation. The understanding of other people is important. The message of the story is that one must be considerate. Thank you once again, Sudha.

Sreevasu, This was wonderful!! Thanks for sharing. I feel, we are becoming increasingly thick and thoughtless, we don't even have the patience to stop and ponder over our doings. Thanks for this, i would work on my patience and understanding level.

I bet that son felt only 2 inches tall after that. :) Thanks for the story. It does mean that we all need to show a little more patience for things, doesn't it.

I think more than patience, the story is about understanding others. The dad always wanted his son to be tall LOL.
