i always think people prefer little things cauze they much more cute and pretty compared with big one. and as for dog, of course,i love puppy more, such a naughty, cute creature with lots of fun. like man, it is more interesting to play with kids than adults. cherish young and carefree days!

Puppies are less scary, so I'll pick them. I have a bit of a dog phobia becuase I got bit a few too many times as a kid, but I can usually handle cute little puppies okay. =p
Of course, the problem with people preferring puppies over adult dogs is that puppies grow into adult dogs, and then what do you do with them? So many dogs wind up in shelters or being put down or just kicked into the street just because they grew up and their owners didn't want them anymore. Even a non-dog-lover like me feels sorry for these poor animals that have been abandoned for just growing up!

I prefer to get my dogs from puppies too. They are just adorable. But I don't throw thema away when they grow older though. I still love them like I love them when they are still puppies. Everyone planning to get a dog should undergo the whole ordeal raising them from pup till they grow old. I think they should not get a finish product; a well trained adult dog.

I think I prefer dogs to puppies because they are more sensible and well trained. A puppy is excitable and into chewing anything he finds. They are delightfully playful and quite adorable to look at. I think by looking at a puppy's feet it is possible to tell how big he will be roughly when he is older. Large breeds of dog can have quite big feet.
I went over to collect my puppy, Secret, from the lady that bred him. I saw him and thought he looked adorable. He was so lovely to cuddle and say hello to. I saw his mother. What a beautiful dog. The breeder said that everyone loved the sight of her. She was black and white, with a marble sort of effect. Wow! Secret was a playful puppy and I loved seeing him having such fun. The first time he saw snow was very funny indeed. Now he is older, he will he 3 this month, I love him even more. He is the most superb dog and I love him very much.

I agree with you that puppies and kittens are cute and cuddly. However, we have two older dogs that have their own charm. They are house broken, they are great to run and play with...take for a walk and make great compansions when they are older because they require much less focused attention.
So there are pluses on both sides...but personally I prefer it when our pets are older...they really 'come into their own' and reveal their unique personalities after they get past the 'kid' stage. Maybe it has something to do with the age of the owners and their lifestyle. But our mature dogs work for where we are. Tasha is 15 years and will be sadly missed when her time comes. Cherokee is a Shepherd/Husky cross male...and a great dog. Picture included.
