having watched the community shield match and the resulting win over chelsea, i am a little bit worried about the Man Utd defence which really seems shaky as of the moment. The Malouda goal should not have been. I think Ferdinand and Vidic need to up their game knowing that the season will be more strenous especially with Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle around the corner. I guess our new signings will take time to settle, especially Nani. I saw his game against Chelsea and i would hate to imagine him with the same rash challenges in the premier - God Forbid!!If we are to make any sort of all fronts attack for the trophies this season, we have to play really hard coz believe me, our opponents will capitalize fully on our mistakes.
I dont think playing Oshea as a midfielder is really going to help the team.
My overall opinion, Smith should not have been sold!!

I think it's still early to say how shaky United's defence is. Malouda's goal is a good goal because he has had so much strength in him. Ferdinand-Vidic partnership is going to be permanent for now and its good that Silvestre is still around as a backup. Heinze will be a better choice but we can't count on him anymore since his heart isn't here anymore. The inclusion of Hargreaves will somewhat tighten the defence since he will be the first line of defence. United will still be United, playing the attacking, entertainment football we want to watch. Attack is the best form of defence, and Tevez is almost going to be a Red Devil, spicing up more attacking options for United.
