I had never given it too much thought until today, but I guess my city would be a moderately sized college town. There are two universities and one community college in the immediate vicinity. There are also quite a few universities within commuting distance. That means that our city attracts a lot of young people. We have a local baseball team with a ballpark located in the downtown area where there is a nice park and lots of local businesses. We also have a large convention center and two venues dedicated to the arts. There are also a few historical districts. Some parts of the city have been decimated by the effects of poverty and drugs, but there has been some effort to gentrify these areas. This used to be a thriving industrial city, but most of the large industries closed down. The loss due to the decline of the automotive industry dealt a crushing blow to us. Many people lost thir jobs and much more. We have two large hospitals and a heart hospital locally. There are other hospitals in surrounding communities. I would like to be able to say that I am proud of my city, but when I see the lack of progress in certain areas, I wouldn't be honest if I did.

sounds a nice place to live in...well, my city is on her way to a beautiful and progressive city..it's still under construction though..we have so far 3 big malls, lots of little ones...but what i'm proud of my city are the people..we are so far known as the city of smiles here in the philippines because as what tourists have observed, people here have the warmest welcoming smile and very hospitable ones....we love visitors here, tourists are treated VIP's in our city...although some are st*pid here but most of the people here are really good...there are different kinds of living here, there are the rich, the average ones and the less fortunate one....schools here especially the private ones have programs to help those who are less fortunate and I'm proud that I came from one school that is very active in helping people.. :)

Thank you for such a pleasant response, madzie. I have heard much about the warmth of the people in the Philippines. You seem to be a prime example of that.

Straightaway coming onto the point, I live in Chandigarh. It's one of the most popular cities in North India, situated at the footsteps of the Chandi Hills. It's also referred to as the CITY BEAUTIFUL at times :) The best feature of the city (concerning it being in India) is the cleanliness and condition of the roads. Trust me! u wont find a better livelihood in the whole of India as in Chandigarh.
The places aren't overcrowded , even the busiest place here Sector 17 is big enough to accommodate thousands and thousands of people who visit daily. There are huge shopping malls, restaurants and offices as well.
Not to forget the Sukhna Lake, one of the best tourist place in the city!
There are tons of other things to be said about the city, may be you should pay a visit here once. ;)
You'll not feel like leaving! :)

My city is a suburb of the nation's capital. We are growing. We used to be a little town and now we are trying to become a big city. Everywhere there were trees, there are new houses being built. We have a brutal rush hour now.And we are building a new high school. We have some historical sites. It is still a nice place to be.

The weather of my city where I live in is so superb and wonderful that many others come here to have a nice trip just for its outstanding name and climate's sake.It is a place where it is nither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter.and it is a nice resort to avoid hot weather(like this time),hiking and going camping in the mountains for instance, where the air is so clear and unpolluted.
