How come when I go grocery shopping, all of the healthy food is expensive and can barely satisfy you, while the cheap, no name-brand crap, that can feed a family of 3 or 4 so affordable? Who would want to spend 5 dollars on a piece of brocoli when you can get "FULL" at Taco Bell for like 2 bucks?! I think America is making it easier to be unhealthy, and overweight... What do you think??
I wanna know how much you guys spend on your "diet". How much do you spend on your Gym Memberships, your organic food, your personal trainer, your bike and workout apparel... whatever!

I feel lucky that I live in the countryside, and we always have the vegetables we grow ourselves. In our country, we have rice instead of bread, have cooked food instead of raw meat. Yes, I'm in China. Here,I feel people more healthy, and the food is cheaper than yours. We seldom spend much time and money on Gym ....But it's a pity that nowdays some gils in china choose to be slimmer and slimmer, which caused them unhealthier...

I think the shops and manufactuerers put up the prices bacause they can, the whole idea of healthy food plays on peoples insecurities so they will pay the extra in order to feel better about themselves and that they are being healthy. To be honest i rarely buy any 'health' foods, just regular food and drink but watch what i eat. Also don't have gym pass or any special equipment just take the dogs for a walk, it tires you out and its free

I have never really thought about things like that but your right, maybe it should be put to the Governments to save on the health area that healthy food should be subsidised by them, it is logical thinking, if its healthy it should be cheap, now that the nice weather is coming I am going to get back into my garden and going for a walk every day. Well try to.....

Now that I think about it, ORGANIC foods are probably more expensive because you have to put more work into it. Protecting plants without pesticides, and raising chickens without steroids...
I think people get more for their money when food is all processed and crap. It is just easier, and tastes better (because of Artificial Flavors which enhances foods natural flavours by like a million) and they way they package it, it lasts longer too...

You're right. I'm pretty health conscious. We cook at home a lot. We eat a lot of FRESH fruits, vegetables and meats. I don't buy organic stuff just cos' it's so expensive but just getting regular fresh stuff is already putting a strain on our budget. I do grocery shopping every 2 weeks and spend around $100. We don't eat a lot of processed foods. So, none of that yucky canned stuff or the dollar stuff with God knows what in it!

Hi, well you are right, as all the healthy food is really expensive and if its just you or one person whose on a diet, its still affordable but that doesnt happen mostly, as when we buy we do so for the full family, and then we get choosy seeing the rates. But yes i would suggest that beside the food bit, am sure you can work out things that are less fattening and add in a bit of workouts and take up some sport instead, so that you really dont have to be dependant on health foods and gyms for that matter. I have tried it, and did manage to remain fat free too, its all just a state of mind, and we mostly feel that our friends are going to the gym or eating this and this will make us healthier, so we want to do those things only, where as if we do try, we dont need all these food stuffs and the gyms, as there are other alternatives also.

I don`t think healty is expensive but been at the healty fashion is, In other words if you wanna be healty you can get into diet programs who includes less bread a meat and all that stuff and make excersice into your home, going to parks are good idea, but if you want to buy al the ligth products you see onthe supermarket be for sure that your diet will be very far of being healty and your supermarket account will be reaching the sky.
