My Younger Brother's Problem

My younger brother (the name's Dino) has a talent in dancing and gymnastics. He's an active member in the high school dance troupe and gymnastics. Because he loves both groups, he decided to be active on both. However, there's this incident where he made a series of backflips and then something crunched somewhere in his back, making him crying with agony. Dino and my mom then went to the hospital to have it checked - and the doctor said my brother shouldn't perform anymore gymnastics because it'll only make his back worse. My brother became so bothered nowadays because the school counts on him on the gymnastics since there will be a program where gymnastics will perform... My brother's highly popular because of his gymnastic skills since he started since he was still in freshmen (he's now a senior in high school)... But since he has a back injury... In a month, my brother will finally be an official member of the gymnastics performers if he continues to practice with his mentor.. But then my mother forbids him to continue, and they got into a heated arguement that resulted to a lot of yelling. My brother said that it's his dream to become a performer. My mother angrily reasoned that she doesn't want anything bad to happen to him because of the previous accident my dad experienced because of an injury.. My brother got so pissed and told my mother that he wants to continue but he'll just be careful about his injury.. "Mom, just a month - then I'll stop okay? Just let me be an official member of the gymnasts! Everyone's counting on me, Mom!" "Just a month?! A lot of things can happen in a month! Don't you understand?! I don't want you to get hurt by this silly organization.. You won't be able to bring what you learned in gymanastics in college anyway!" "You don't understand, Mom. This is my dream! And I want to pursue it.. I've been practicing for years, and you want me to quit!?!" And so on.. I feel so bad about their arguement. They didn't speak to each other for a long time now.. I want to talk to both of them to settle things out.. But I don't know how. I'm afraid they won't be able to settle things out. I know I should not interfere but what else should I do? If my mom still won't allow him to continue the gymnasts, my brother will really be miserable - and hate my mom because he failed his dream... If my mom will allow my brother to continue the gymnasts, there'll be a big chance that my brother will get badly hurt! But he'll be able to be an official member - dream come true for him.. Do you have opinions about this situation?? Please help!

I feel you should support your mother's opinion. If your brothercontinue the gymnasts, you all know that it is very dangerous. Maybe Dino will hate your mother for some time, but I think he will realiza the reazon under this desicion one day.

thanks. i do support my mom's opinion. however i feel really bad about Dino because he can't pursue his dream. i am just like him, i won't be able to pursue my dream because my mom also forbids me. and the feeling sucks.. but i know my mom will be right in the end so i didn't complain that much.. unlike my brother. i really do feel sad about him because he can't continue..

Is being an official member enough for him? Your mum is just concerned for him, cos his health is at risk, if his back is badly hurt, it might affect his movements and he may not be able to walk normally, let alone do all the flips and turns. If plain membership is enough, he can give it a shot, but for all the subsequent trainings after that, I think he got to give it up, unless he wants to walk around with clutches or even sit in a wheelchair! He's really convinced that he won't be harmed in the gymnastics. He just wants to be an official member so that when his back returns to normal, he'll be able to attend the trainings. But as of the moment, he's still in pain. Though he pretends it doesn't hurt. Darn him.
