i was chatting with one of my ol frnds,wen i new that he's got a job.i happened to ask him his pay.
he said he wont tell me.
and wen i asked him why,the reply was"just f-k off" i got really pained?wat do u propose i shud do?just forget it or never contact him again? u know i rally felt humiliated.kindly post you opinion

Just maybe your friend considered it impolit of you to keep after him about what he made on his job. I don't think it is any one elses business what I make as wages or what money I have. This is really not a very good reason to discontinue a friendship. If I were you and want to continue this friend ship I would appoligize and never mention money again.

hmmm some people take questions like that as an insult. I know no one asked my Grandpa what he made or who he voted for cause he would knock their block off. This was 30 years ago mind you, but maybe that same mentality still exists. Maybe you could give him a cooling down time and then just ask if he was joking or if you really ticked him off. Is he normally like this? Anyway, I could see how it would upset and confuse you to have him react that way, it would have me as well.

It is weird . But maybe he was joking with you. Or maybe he wasn't happy the salary he is getting. But of course it will never be an excuse what he said to you. I suggest you give you two a little time he was probably mad about something else and over reacted. And i am sure he is already upset about what he said. But meanwhile if i were you i would wait him to contact me first.
