Mid-year holidays have begun and the kids are at home. For every holiday, we are taking our kids to a place of interest for them to relax and enjoy. This year, we find it difficult to put a time aside cos, the entire month of August, every weekend, we have something or the other. For the moment, we are keeping the last weekend that is 25/26 open since we have a full moon day on 28 which is a holiday in our country. If we take one day off on Monday, we have 4 days. I wonder, how do you people plan holidays? Do you go out of your country or just within the country.

Here in our place, 2 major holidays for schools, winter and summer. Winter inbetween studies and summer after a year in school ends. Winter is about 10 days and summer almost a month and a half. During this period, my wife and son go to Mangalore, a coastal region where my in-laws stay. They have a very big house and lot of grand children gather there, there are lot of trees, plants, plenty of play area, lot of indoor games, for outdoor, cycling etc. Then my grandpa would take them to different scenic spots, parks, children play grounds almost alternative days and they just pray that holidays be not over quickly. It is always better for children to go out, change of atmosphere will give them a freshness and good feeling.

Your son is veru lucky. We do not have such luxuries here and even we can go to my mom's hometown which is about 120 km to the hill side, we cannot go there cos both of us work. So when we can get away from work max 1 day and we try to take it with a week end and we go to a hotel close by and relax. Even we need that relaxing cos, we work very hard all the time. You know some times i feel whether its worth all this trouble and haa ho. But we have to do it cos COL here is extremely high and we are having high hopes in our kids studies. To enter them to good schools also we have to pay handsome amount of money. So life is difficult here but, we try to enjoy as far as we can. I always think, we are so much better off than so many others. This keeps a smile in our face.

Thanks for giving my response BR. The working parents should conserve the annual leave and should use it for family entertaininment and should take the children out. That will do a lot good by way of exposure to new areas, new people and new things.

It's short for you to visit abroad among 4 days.I usually relax myself at home such as listening to music, watching TV and playing games if the days of tha holidays is only one or less.If the days are more than 2,I'll call on some of my friends or go to see sights around us.If the days are more than one week and I have much money I'll go to foreign countries I dream of visiting.
