being there for a friend

what would u do if ur bestfriends mom had cancer and was about close to her death and out of the whole family/ kids that are in the home she was the only one that took care of her. and being my friend is going back to school how would u handle that, when the mom is unable to do anything for herself really.

I think this friend needs to either hire someone to stay with her mother or get her into a home or a hospice to care for her.or if possible delay starting school .The reason i say this is because I just lost my mother nad I miss her terribly so if I had it to do over again I would have spent every min I could with her because her time was short.
