I am just wondering how fast you could run certain distance so i can base where i am with regards to my fitness. From now on i want to get really fit and my circuit is currently a 2.5 mile run, how long does it take everyone else to do this distance? it takes me 13 minutes 25 seconds (on my last run) i do want to increase the distance but only when i get fitter, sort of around 12 minutes for the 1 circuit.

thats quite good fitness and pace-my best 3 mile time is 19:15, ive never timed myself over anything shorter, i normally run 4 miles onwards because it burns more calories.
your pace will start to drop a lot when you increase the distance because after 2o minutes you start to use a different type of energy

I've had my times recorded only a few times, when taking the tests for the sports class.
I remember running a kilometer in 3 minutes in high school, 6 years ago.
Ever since, I've only recorded short track times. The latest was this summer, when I ran 50m in 6.9 seconds (which I consider to be a performance for my out-of-shape body).
