how did you learn to swim?? i have a funny story to tell

i was about 8 yrs old when i learned to swim and how it happened was i was spending a few days over my aunt and uncles house which i did often in the summer and we went to their friends house on the lake and well we were out on the dock and i was annoying my uncle (which at 26 i still love to do :) ) and well he said if you dont stop ill throw you in and i told him you wouldnt dare i cant swim well he thought i was joking picked me up and tossed me in at first i remeber try to keep myself a float while still sinking in the water he paid no attention at first for her thought i was joking i finally was able to keep myself floating with the doggie paddle and thats when a golden retriver jumped in to pull me out and ever since then i went from doggie paddle to under water to breast stroke in a short period of time, it came easy to me once i knew how to keep myself afloat! how about you how did you learn to swim??
