A recent newspaper article says that toys made by Mattel based on popular characters like Barney, Dora and Diego were being recalled last Friday in some Asian and European countries after the toymaker warned of lead in the paint.
The action is part of a worldwide recall of 1.5 million plastic toys aimed at preschoolers.
I have a 13 month child, what could have been the effect to my child if I have bought this toy?
what are the dangerous effects of lead to children?

wasn't paint with lead content banned in the 60s? it's scary to think what would happen if anyone got into contact with lead, that would probably be REALLY disastrous. anyway, it might be that there were some isolated cases, but i don't think that a manufacturer on such a large scale as mattel would do something as irresponsible as that, not on purpose anyway. hope they get to the bottom of this.

yup. I think they didnt have made it on purpose anyway. However, this have currently made news. And this has made an issue to secure. Specially here in the Philippines. And the government have made a reaction by telling people to buy products that are only having with government seal.
