Why I'm Quitting The WePaid.com PTR Program

I joined the WePaid.com Paid To Read program on July 9, 2007 after finding them on BeenPaid.com. They are a Diamond member there with the highest 2+ years ranking, and more than 5 years in business. that sort of longevity is practically unheard of in the GPT community. With a $4.00 minimum payout, 5 referral levels, and no complaints against them that I could find joining seemed like a nobrainer. However, a month later I'm canceling my account. It's not because they've done anything wrong, or because I don't expect to be paid. Rather, it's just become too expensive to continue with them.
Like most GPT programs, WePaid is free to join. It's not the money that's become too expensive, it's the time. It takes 5 clicks to read and view a paid ad at WePaid.com - 1) open email, 2) click on link, 3) confirm account, 4) close window (after 20 second timer has elapsed), 5) delete email. In addition to the slow load time of the confirmation page and the longish timer, this just takes WAY too much time considering the revenue I'm generating from them. In contrast, my current favorite PTR program, Myster-E-Mail, always has a PTC banner in the runner at the top of the paid ads. This allows a single click for each paid ad viewed.
At Myster-E-Mail, the standard payment is $0.00015 for a 10 second timer. At WePaid, the 4 extra clicks and double length timer nets me 10 points. At the end of the month these ponts are supposed to be converted to cash. The exchange rate can change each month, but for email ads it has consistently been 200 points per $0.01 for the last six months. This works out to $0.0005 per email. But WePaid only sends 3 to 5 emails each day. Myster-E-Mail sends around 100 emails each day in addition to having another 100 (or so) PTC ads in rotation. The differences add up very quickly.
I've been paid 7 times at Myster-E-Mail in the last month, but at this rate won't be paid by WePaid until June 2011. By then I will have earned well over $100 at Myster-E-Mail even without referrals, and I only click through about 1% of the emails I receive through them.
People are always saying that PTR programs are scams. I don't believe WePaid is scamming me. i have no doubt that if I were willing to conitnue with them for the next 4 years I would receive my $4.00 payment. I'm just not interested in waiting that long to earn that little when so many other programs pay out on a weekly or monthly basis and generate revenue at a much quicker pace.
