I just didn't enjoy Top Chef!

This past Saturday evening, NBC showed an epidode of Top Chef (I think that's what it was called). And, for some reason, I didn't find it to be exceptionally different than any of the other cooking contest shows on television. The drama seemed contrived and contestants were just down-right boring. I guess you'd have to see the show from the beginning of the season to understand their conflicts.
Can anyone tell me whether or not this is a good show? We don't get the Bravo network (I think that is where it is usually broadcast), so I have not seen any other episodes. Perhaps this was just one really bad episode. Maybe the others are better. Personally, I think that Hell's Kitchen is way better. Lots more drama and better challenges. On the up-side, I did pick up a really great cooking tip on how to freeze pasta. So maybe that was a good thing!

yea it's not very interesting especially compared to Hells Kitchen. Hells Kitchen is to hard core for me so I don't watch any of them. I like the light hearted ones on the Food Network if i were to watch them

I've always loved the Food Network, but we don't get cable now, so I have to miss them all.

I read a review in a magazine yesterday comparing Hell's Kitchen and Top Chef. The reviewer much preferred Top Chef. And I think everyone would have to see both shows to be able to judge. I have seen both shows. I prefer Top Chef. I don't know what episode you watched, but there have been a few this season I didn't like. But the food looks better, the challenges are more interesting (I'd never seen anyone cook snake or wild boar), and the contestants have a lot of background. I found them more real than watching Ramsay call women 'b*tches' and that grating narration. But that is just me. I never know what they are going to do. The show has a more colorful feel, and I have never been bored. I've also actually found new foods to cook at my home. But like I said, that is only my preference as well as the reviewer. : )

I thought the very 1st season of Top Chef was great. I haven't been able to get into the second 2 seasons though. I'm not sure why. I don't seem to like the people who are in it as much. :o)
