Do you buy your fabric at Walmart?

Do you like the prices and selection they offer? If so, contact them via letter and/or email. I found out on a recent trip that they're planning on phasing out the fabric departments in ALL of their stores. New stores are being set up without the department at all. I don't know about you, but Walmart has the best prices and selection of all the fabric stores I've been to in my area. Just FYI.

I have purchased quite a bit of fabirc from walmart. a lot of it is the $1/yard. I stay away from the really thin stuff, but some of the fabric is pretty good quality. I buy bolts of it, and use it for my children's clothing. My daughters each have at least 2 dresses (so far) with green daffodil fabrics. :) I have enough to make at least 2 more for each of them. I may make bigger ones, so they can wear them next year! LOL!

i do somewhat like buying fabric from walmart they do not have too bad of prices i also heard that they are planning on doing away with the fabric department in all of their stores it is sad but i do not think that a letter is going to change their minds i would at a large corperation like walmart and trust me when customers send in complaints through email or letters nothing gets done about if you did want to try to send in a letter you would not be able to send it to the walmart store you would have to go through the corperate office which could be located anywhere in the us

I shop now, and again at Walmart. I have notice less inventory the last several week, and i did read on another board they were eliminating their fabric sections. I guess it probably was not profitable.

This sucks !! They are the only place that I buy my fabric. They have such low prices and huge selection. the same fabric at a fabric store would be twice as much if not more.

I used to buy all of my fabric from Wal-Mart, but when we moved, the nearest Wal-Mart is now 30+ miles away, and takes almost an hour to get to. Apparently no one here shops at Wal-Mart anyhow, so this affects me less than it affects those who live in a place where Wal-Mart is the only option. I do know, however, that they've been talking about this plan for quite some time, and all I've seen thus far is a little bit of a decrease in the quantity of stuff that they offer. Maybe they are getting enough of a response from crafters that they will change their mind altogether...

Considering I work(ed) at a Wal-Mart, I've heard nothing of the sort here ( Odessa, Texas ) and nothing has been told to me by friends that work there either. Quite possibly been spoke of in the past few meetings but I'm curious to see if this is indeed the case here as well. I've been wanting to learn quite a few things for hobby reasons that would definitely need that particular department. First layaway, now this - makes me wonder if this is truly not the first stages of Wal-Mart eventually closing down a bunch of stores because of screw ball decisions.
