i'm a heavy coffee-drinker until recently i've started to drink tea as a substitute. My wife noticed the change in my consumption habit so i explained that an article research i've read wrote about tea containing only half the amount of caffeine contents to that of coffee. Now my wife and i are having an arguement over which contains more caffeine. But my dear wife insists that tea contains much more caffeine than coffee. Any wise lotters who can provide an answer?

Well, I've never known that tea has caffeine. I thought only coffee has caffeine. In tea there is another substance which is tanine. My school teacher taught about this.
I agree with you that coffee has more caffeine than tea. This is based on my knowledge that tea has no caffeine but only tanine.

I would have to take a guess and say coffee. To me it doesnt seem logical that tea would have more in it.
