What if we had to sit down with God and go over our day with him?

We probably should be doing this anyway but what if at the end of every day we had to sit across the table from God and go over our day? I mean how many of us would pass the day? I know for one I start out my day determined I will follow God's will and not get mad about anything and be a woman after God's own heart but I do slip into my old ways. Tonight I was just sitting here thinking what would I do if God was sitting at my table and I had to answer for my day. It is a rather scary thought. My goal is to have days where I would get 100 percent on any test God gave me. Right now I am happy if I can get a 90 percent. What about you?

I wish what you have said could happen. The way today people have lost faith in God. The way people are committing sins everyday without even feeling guilty about what they are doing, the way rust is accumalating on the concious of people today which make them forget the meaning of clean concious. See how boldly today people say, where is God??????? who is God.......... they don't even realise that they are suffering only because they have lost faith in God. I which there was a compelsary class every day, where each one sat in front of God to check is daily deeds....., believe me.......this world would be like heaven then.....as like our parents, there would be God who would protect us from falling into trap of evils and we could really have some peace at heart. But this is just an imagination. Wish it was true.

I could not agree with you more. What a difference the world would see wouldn't it? I was sitting here after posting this thinking I should make up a test for me to take every day on my own just to make me reflect and maybe be more aware of what I am doing in a day.

My friend ,if we are aware of our mistakes, if we have faith in God and if we always try to clean our consious, then , I think you and me are not so bad after all.......I think we are very close to God. I feel peace at heart when I asked for forgiveness. so all people like you and me who believe in God don't need to go through any tests........lets continue to be as we are..... have a nice day.

I agree but in the past 2 weeks He(God) give me the test of my life. In which I hope I can pass and stand strong on. The best test I beleive is a test of faith was my mom passing away 3 days before my wedding day. I had to prepare for the wedding and the next day I had to leave and go to prepare for her burier. Now taking about a test of faith. I think I would actually be more then ready to seat and break bread with my savior an answer his question as it will make me a better person then I am today.

I am so sorry you had to go through all of that. It would seem that you passed with flying colors. It is never easy to lose a parent but to do it right before your wedding would be very difficult. My daughter just got married two weeks ago and I can not imagine what she would have done in your situation. God Bless you and your new husband may you both live happily in God's love.

I always try and start my day with a prayer, thanking God for another day and for His many blessings. I also ask Him to make me a blessing for someone else. I also ask for His forgiveness for my sins and for my worries and doubts.
No one, I believe, can go thru an entire day without committing one sin. When we are in traffic and someone cuts us off, we get angry and may say something that does not please God or we get frustrated at work, etc.
The awesome thing to know is that God is a very forgiving God and He understands our feelings and He knows when we strive to do His will. We can't live the Christian life by ourselves. It is humanly impossible. Only with Christ's help can we do it.
When we confess our sins, God forgives us and He no longer remembers the sin. We may, but He doesn't. He is so good!
God bless you!

I'm afraid that I would fall miserably short on a lot of those days, TriciaW. We are all supposed to strive toward being more like God, but it's not easy because we are human. Being human we all have feet of clay. How many in the Bible were said to be ..."a man after God's own heart?" Only one.

I think God is well aware of the rut I am in and he is waiting for me to take care of myself and to change my ways. I don't do anything wrong per se, I am just stuck in a rut of working constantly, not doing some things I should, avoiding things I don't want to deal with, and just not being the good person I want to be. I am a good friend, good mom, decent wife, decent sister...but I need to really shake myself out of my rut and get things done. I think God would be disappointed but understanding of my situation and may even give me the incentive to force myself to stop working and start living again.
I would love the opportunity to sit down and discuss my day and answer for the things I avoided doing. It would certainly be eye opening and a great lesson. As far as doing anything "bad", I don't have time, I am always working! I don't do ANYTHING else. I don't think that is how it was intended to be.
This made me think and I thank you for the discussion. I am going to try to live as though, at the end of the day, I do have to face God and tell him what I did and what I DIDN'T do. Maybe that will get me to get organized and get my act together!
Thanks!

I hate to say it, but you and I are a lot different! I'm a little too relaxed in my attitude perhaps. Maybe it's because I lived with lots and lots of criticism when I was a kid.. but I just don't worry about any of it. The way I learned it, is to work hard at drawing close to God (both the Father and the Son) and the closer we are to them, and the more time we spend with them, in the Spirit and Presence of the Lord, the more filled up with Him we become.. and slowly we are "changed into His image". Since all good things come from Him, and don't ever actually come from us, being filled with Him is the thing that works. and actually the only thing that works. Of course we are "changed into His likeness" slowly!:) So yah, we mess up everyday. But He keeps us wanting to do and be better.. And the more time we spend with Him, well.. He rubs off on us!

This is such an awsome thouhgt That I had to take and use the idea for my church newsletter. I used the idea of having to sit down across from God and having to answer what we did and didn't do for him. This is a really awsome way to get in touch with doing what he wants each of us to do. I couldn't even do 3o% of what he wants me to do.

I know that I would not pass, however I would like to hope that I could.. At the end of the day I am much like you, I start out gung hoe, and then start to dwindle during the lunch hour, or round about there.
I would love to go to church more often, but I usually have to work from 8 am to 8 pm on saturday and Sunday due to the fact that my place of employment is really shorthanded right now.. Well working from 8 to 8 usually cover all three services at my church, and I refuse to go anywhere else.
I do think that God is all forgiving and will understand that sometimes there is just too much to handle at that moment and as long as you look back and realize that you have wronged, all will be forgiven..
Remember though that God only gives you what he thinks you can handle, and if it seems like too much and you feel you are slipping out of his way, Just pray to him to only give you what you feel you can handle right now and things should get better. Or pray for him to give you strength to handle things... It should work, it always does for me.
Thanks for making me think about my faith..

That is an excellent question that we should all be thinking about daily. Yesterday I probably would have gotten about an 80%! Not too great. I had some fighting kids that took me to my limit! Today is a new day and I will try to do better.

I would be honored to meet God & have dinner with him. To talk with him person to person & learn how to improve myself & life on this earth.

I may not even get 10%, Tricia! Well thats a very good question put up by you. And this is a fact that most of us try to run away from. What if we have to account for our behaviours, actions and even thoughts? I would be doomed. Though like you I also try to follow "God's" way. (the term 'Gods' way can be reframed in other ways also, but the meaning remains the same. Cos though I believe in a supernatural power, or force or energy.. I'm not sure to put it a particular name or face to it. I would call it the 'higher self' so that its acceptable to all.) One should try to be a complete human being. If one lives up to that, one becomes GOD. That's the stage when the 'self' becomes 100% efficient and becomes the 'higher self'. All negativities disappear, only love spreads, one always takes the right action at the right time and understands all behaviours and reasons behind events. Even the thinking, which is the most personal aspect, is pure and good. Selfless, neutral and positive.
Have I reached that stage, No. Am I anyway near to it. No. So am I dissuaded and depressed by this fact. No way. Am still hopeful. One should always keep the positive attitude and keep making efforts. faults and mistakes will happen, those are just lessons of life to learn from, the 'intention' with which things are done is important. Things and aspects can be further defined, Tricia, but in short I think what you've written is right. I can think of more topics of discussion arising out of this, more things to clear. Life is simple but complicated. Am sorry for a long response but I was just carried away by my thoughts and emotions. Hope you aren't asleep reading this by now!! :)

If only we all thought this way. I think it's also good to start out the day by going over the day with God, before it even happens. I know that it helps me. :)
