This person asked to be my friend..I thought I will be nice..and two days in a row he has sent unwanted spam to my message box..It's absolutely rude.
I think he should ask before sending junk like that.
Anyway..I deleted him..
To anyone who is going to spam you will be deleted from my friends list..
I dont mind you sharing something ..addressing me by name or username and then saying would you like to know about this?
This person must have had 20 links in his message.
No hellos..nothing like that..just spam!

I don't blame you one bit. I stopped along time ago blindly taking on new friends. Now they have to have been here so many months and have to have over so many posts before I will even look at their profile. They will spam your PM and your comments on your profile. They are so rude it's not even funny.

Just plain RUDE. I hate that, I did it once but for my personal email. I met the guy in person though and he said he had some business opportunities for me...YEA he did like a thousand. Everyday maybe 4 or 5 times a day I reported him to Yahoo...he used another email address and I didn't want to change my email address to many important things attached to it. Yea I got sick of it so I switch email's finally and that was hectic. I should file a lawsuit against him for stress and whatever I can think of ;)

Amen to that ..plain rude rude rude...I cannot stand when people have me for a friend simply to get something out of me like money or to get me to sign up for something..
I dont mind though if a friends say to me they found something and asks if I want to know more about it and when I say "yes" then sends me more info.
Spammers, however, do not have manners .

Oh - it happened to you again? If you are a member of other paid-to sites, spam them back saying I'll only take a look at your stuff if you join & are active.
Hmmmm ... A SPAM FIGHT! A SPAM FIGHT!
Now I'm picturing a strange pink meatball fight.

Of course. I didnt learn from the first time; but I think if someone starts throwing in spam, I will toss in the eggs ..makes a good combination.

Good for you!
I have the same experiences. I am willing to accept anyone as a myLot friend, provided they are active and not a cheater. But then, if they do something like that and start sending me spam messages, they get deleted quickly. The very first time it happened, no sooner was his(or her) spam message in my inbox than he was being deleted off my friend list.
That's my only rule about being a friend: A am not asking you to solicit anything to me. If I ask, that's one thing, but if I didn't, then I shouldn't be receiving these messages.

The first time this spammer did it..I let it go..but the second time no..It's impolite to simply use people email for spam.

I have only had one person send me something like that, but he did say hello with a friendly message so I didn't mind. I would be annoyed if they don't have a friendly message with it and they should only send it once.

Mine did not..I am tempted to show what was written; but mylot does not look kindly on bringing another person to the fore front even if he/she did wrong..it's mylot's job to ban them ;)

It is best to let these things get taken care of through the propper channels. They do eventually.

Yes, you are right. I am going to let those who have power do so..but when people are sending private spam messages the powers that be don't know this.

Dont worry about it. you will receive different messages from different people. It is not a must that you have to take all the messages. You select dignified message and contiue to be friendly with the links....ok and just omit all unwanted spams.

Worried ..I am not..so past that. Just aggrivated that people come here with the intention of spamming and that's all they want.

Ah littlefranciscan,
Don't take this too seriously. People who ask to be a friend somethimes think it is appropriate to send you invitations to this or that program. Remember, some people sincerely want to make friends on mylot, others see mylot as a way to increase their contact list and network. I just delete the messages and don't reply.

I understand where you are coming from. I think this person added me as a friend that spammed me and 5 minutes later had an private message with 20 links in it!!

Yes, I hear there is a bit of this going around. I have had something similar only not quite as rude. You did the best thing you can do and that is to just delete them. It sends the loudest message, IMO.
Hopefully, buy putting a message like this out there it will deter it a little bit.
