My 5 yr. old does not eat anything with cheese in it except pizza and he usually tears off the other toppings and then throw the cheese off to the side and eats the crust....
He will not eat macaroni and cheese...
He loves his veggies and eats every type from asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, brusel sprouts..in fact, I have only found one vegetable that he does not like and that is hominy..
He drinks an average 1/2 of chocolate milk each day..loves steak and crab legs, shrimp...but is not particularly fond of hamburgers...
So is your child a picky eater? Mine is but then again he is not....LOL

I wish my youngest child was as picky as yours lol. My 4 year old daughter will only eat Sausages, chips, yogurt and apples. If she is really hungry she will have half a ham sandwich. She is sick every time I try to get her to eat veggies. Apples and sometimes raisens are the only fruit she will eat. She like all kids loves sweets and crisps but I try not to give her these. I think you are lucky. Your son will grow up to be healthy.

I did not mean to be insensitive if I was, I apologize...
It is difficult to get some children to eat things...we all eat this way and he has always been served the same thing as the rest of the family....
I wish you the best in trying to get your little girl to eat better...

None of my older children were ever picky eaters so it was an adjustment for me when I had two more children and they both turned out to be picky . I was worried about them not getting enough to eat and brought this up with the public health nurse one day but after examining my little one's she said not to worry and to keep doing what I was as they were very healthy and I had no worries about what they were eating as they would be like your five year old . They are picky about certain things they eat but will eat it on something else .

Yes dear i have seen many of my friends child picky eater. But I think your child has a good healthy choice for veggies and its good to eat those green veggies specially, this is good for him and should be good for you too as he loves to eat those and you do not have to think much with his eating and never have also.

Thats so funny! it sounds like he eats all the things that most kids turn their nose up at! I have one daughter that was very fussy. I did cater to her and saw to it that she got what she liked but only after she tried at least a bite of what the rest of us were having. Over time she acquired a taste for a variety of different things. She is all grown now and loves most things.

Hi, well this happens to most kids that young and you dont have to worry dear, with time and as he grwos up, he will get alright and again the tastes will change and become different, and again the mothrs complain that , he used to eat this and this but now hes changed and prefers this. All that is ok, as its good that they start tasting various things too. All i want to say is that you are in fact lucky that hes fond of good vegetables and all that stuff rather than chees and well other fatty food too, as its at times the other way round, that kids like all that your son doesnt like and mothers keep asking why hes not eating the veggies!

My son is terrible. The older he has got, the worse he is. I hate cooking for him as it is the same foods every time. He will only eat peas as his source of vegetables and does not eat any fruit.
I buy him organic sausages and he refuses and wants to eat the rubbish ones. I have to make him pizza as I refuse to buy the ones in the supermarkets as they are full of additives. I also buy him 'Innocent' smoothies so he has some fruit.
He will eat yogurts, cereal, ham, mash potato and pasta with garlic bread and that is about it.
I tell him this is not a healthy diet, but it is like talking to a brick wall and when I try to introduce new foods you would think I was trying to poison him.
I would love my son to be as picky as yours!!LOL

My son is a picky eater and he is five too. He does not eat vegestables except I did get him to eat baby carrots (probably because they are sweet LOL). He loves fruits though mostly bananas, apples, grapes, strawberrys and mangoes. He loves cheese pizza and cheese sticks, pasta and marinara sauce, spaghetti and meatballs, taco shells with mince only, loves steak too, mini cheeseburgers or nuggets, yoghurt, apple juice, sprite LOL, chicken, bologne and cheese sandwiches, and a few others. He loves chocolate milk too.
Some days he has an apetite and eats quite a lot and then other days he just picks at his food and drinks more juice/water/milk instead. I get worried about him from time to time especially if he is not gaining weight. The doctor says its ok, not to worry about it so hopefully by his next check up he has gained a few pounds at least.

Yes, I would certainly call my sons (age 1 and almost 5) picky eaters. They are picky in each their own way though.
My oldest son loves potatoes, rice, beef, steak, chicken, Jamaican cooking, Indian cooking, spicy food, broccoli, lettuce etc., but he hates anything that is made out of ground beef and he hates cheese as well (unless it is on a pizza).
My youngest son loves everything ground beef, beans, cheese and bread, he hates most of the stuff that heis brother loves though....
It is actually quite funny, because when we order pizza I order a Meat pizza for the boys, and I have to scrape the ground beef on the one and put it on the other, and I have to do the same thing with pepperoni.
I was a picky child though, and I guess I am still picky because I am a vegetarian, so I try to respect their pickyness within limits :)
