I just saw that in almost every discussion about foreign movies, Americans and all the rest English-speaking nation citizens just HATE subtitles. Are they really such a big deal to you?
I know that they may be distracting to the enjoyment of the movie, but it's just getting used to them. Here in Europe, Croatia 95% of movies on the program have subtitles, and this remaining 5% is, of course, Croatian movies (there is no point in subbing them, eh? :D).

I can deal with subtitles pal. It doesn't bother me at all. That's why subtitles are being created so that we can understand other foreign movies. Somehow in our country, it is being dubbed so viewers can enjoy the tv program or movies shown without the hassle. ;)

Yeah, same here...all the movies are foreign to me anyways :D
I just wanted to ask if the ones whose English is the mother tongue find them distracting :)

Yes I think it sad but it is true... I don't want to stereotype but maybe most americans are just lazy, but defnitley not American Mylotters of course! hehehe? I like a lot of movies with subtitles and prefer subtitles than dubbed voices, at some countries I have been to that is how the people prefer it as well. Even some DVDS i have i put on subtitles anyway if i don't understand something.

It's not a big deal for me about to have only one subtitle. I enjoy with the movies. But if it's 2 subtitles, really distracting to me and I just shift to another favorites channel.
