I'm sure we all have played in the rain as children, but have you noticed its very rarely that you see adults enjoying the rain? No one likes to get wet anymore? I remember as a child i would often be outside running around in the rain, i for some odd reason love the smell of a fresh rain on macadam.
I still am that way, and it seems i am one of the few, If it raining and I'm stepping out of my car to head into the mall i watch as everyone runs in trying to cover their heads, yet i walk slowly with my head tilted upwards facing the rain. I on many occasion walk out into the rain and peer up with my eyes closed and just let the rain come down on me as i feel the sensations of the drops bursting off my face as they make impact feeling like "pokes" of ice hitting my face.
Many people i know call me very weird and strange as they observe from the dry shelter my strange behaviour in the rain. Whats the big deal anyway? the water will dry, it does not stain. Its the simple amazing sensation of the rain bombarding my skin that lures me out into the down poor. All to many as they grow begin to forget or overlook these simple wonders as they scurry about trying to remain what they perceive as comfortable.
Do you enjoy the rain? Do you ever realize the simple excitement and joy it can actually bring? Do you ever find yourself being the odd one outside gazing into the raining skies as i do? Or do you prefer to stay dry by any means necessary?

I will enjoy raining after 30 minutes of it's continuous dropping. You know why? The first 30 minutes called as an acid rain which is totally not good for our health and it contained a lot of carbon elements which also bad for our skin.
The next 30 minutes, can enjoy and have fun.....

I was just like you today,it started raining so my aunt and I just went out on the porch at gazed at the sky and enjoyed it as it hit our faces,I think one reason a lot of people fear it,is they think it is also going to bring thunder and lightning, same reason at the lakes.
As for acid rain,I havn't seen any building melt so far,I'll let you know if one disappears.

I truely enjoy playing in the rain still at 53 years of age. I drag my Beagle Buster out. he doesn't like the rain a lot but will run around the yard with me as we play tag sort of. There's nothing like the feel of raindrops hitting your body on a warm summer day outside. If I am near my home I will even run throuhg a puddle stomping my feet making the puddle blow up spraying the water far away. I've even jumped into mud puddles recently. Hee hee hee!! Here's a photo of my beagle Buster.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I grew up in the south. You would probably be surprized to know that Florida gets a lot of rain. I used to love to lay in my bed when it would pour down rain and listen to the sound of it hitting the tin roof of our house. It was a soothing gentle sound that I miss even now, almost 20 years later.
I now live in the Nevada desert, where we get little to no rain. Most of the moisture that falls here is in the form of snow in the winter months. I never knew snow in my youth and take a great deal of pleasure in it now. I do still love the rain on the rare occaision that I'm able to be outdoors in it. I embrace it and thoroughly enjoy the sensation of it hitting my skin.
I miss that rain so much these days that I even sleep to the sound of thunderstorms at night. I was talking to my boyfriend the other night about the cd that I play every night and realized that I've been listening to the same cd every night for almost 16 years.

Is it one of those "sounds of nature" cd's?? I have this lil gadgets with a glass ball on top that plays those. I do so enjoy the rain sounds.
I also know the impact snow can have on a southerner and how i take it for granted. When i was in high school we had a new student from Georgia. That winter the first snow happened while we were in school, in the teacher mid speech i heard a book drop and looked behind me to see him walking over to the window in the middle of class with this unforgettable look of amazement on his face. He stood there for a minute or two just staring out the window before he realized he was in school and returned to his seat.

I still go out and stand in the rain, everyone else thinks I am insane for doing it but it makes me feel like a kid again. When we go upstate (new York) and it rains, I am the first one out in the mud. Yes, mud. Nothing beats a good old mud slinging contest and when it's all said and done, a nice long hot shower feels great.

I love the rain ,sun, snow, sleet, hale, heat, thunder...all of it. I love all the change...i don't watch the weather reports. I just deal with what is.
have you ever wondered why people run from the lake when it starts to rain? it's pretty funny really.
