air bag stealers?

around here, air bags are getting ripped out of car for resale...is there a big market for stolen air bags? this is the first time i have heard of this... sadly the last time someone stole an airbag, a cop got killed here in Toronto...sad, but i guess that danger is part of the job...

This is just sad. I never heard of this one, but nothing surprises me any more. I reckon there is a market for anything. I just can't understand taking a life over an air bag. My heart goes out to his family.

Air bags are very expensive, and as such they have become a big issue for theft. When we were in a car accident the air bags deployed, and the insurance company told me cars were automatically totalled once the airbags deployed no matter what other damage there was - simply because they are so expensive to replace.

Hi there. I cant believe people are stealing air bags from cars, wow... I never knew there was a market for the things that can minimise damage to people in accidents... Whats next... The indicators maybe or the mats out of the car... Crazy...
