Which is your preference..water from the tap or bottled water.
My theory is tap water is best..put a filter if you want to strain out inpurities.
There is no promise that bottled water isnt bottled tap water.
If you like bottled water ..what brand do you drink?

its the purest form of water, Triple distilled water is mainly use in laboratory analysis
the process is like this....
when you boil a water, water will change into a gaseous state, a vapor,... that process is vaporization, the vapor is trap into a tube , the gas state then turn into liquid, thatliquid form is what you called distilled water

Even if I filter it, my tap water tastes nasty. I buy the cheap big jugs from Wal-mart and they taste better. I guess for me it's not so much about impurities as it is about taste, because if it doesn't taste good I can't get in the amount of water I'm supposed to drink in a day for my health.
I suppose there isn't any promise that bottled water isn't just tap water, but as long as it tastes better I'm not too concerned. And I haven't found that the expensive brands taste any better than the the cheap ones.

Tap water is good in Montevideo. Of course, yo must wash the water tank from time to time. Nevertheless, my wife insists on buying bottled water. The brands we drink I'm sure will be unknown to you and the rest of mylotters (except one or two other uruguayans and a few argentinians here): Salus and Nativa.

So you must have a water tank.. Is it something that sits above ground or below? I think ours is below ground.

I personally drink tap water. Like another person who posted said it is about the taste. Like when I go to California I have to drink the bottled water because I just can not stand the tap water there. I think I remember hearing though that one bottled water company actually gets there water from the tap, they just filter the water. I don't remembe which one it was though.

Bottled water is more likely be safe. For me, where I live, tap water is dangerous. It doesn't go to finer treatments of water. It too has high concentration of particles in them that shouldn't be there. My uncle sells water that is good for the body. He purifies water but leaves in particles that are godd for the body.

It's all about the taste to me. It is hard for me to drink tap water from town because my natural well water has a distinct taste. When I buy bottled water I buy nestles pure, although I know it is just tap water that is purified. What bothers me about bottled water is how long has it been sitting in that bottle? How pure is it after being sent all over the country allowed to sit unrefrigerated? I haven't tried to filter my water but if I did, I would still want that fresh spring taste my tap water has.

Where I come from, tap water is not safe to drink..even with a filter. The next alternative is a water purifier which is expensive. Among the water purifiers only the latest ones gives us pure, odourless water.
We buy bottled water for drinking. No specific brand.

I can't believe that nobody has posted the old thing about Evian being Naive spelled backwards!
In the UK, as with much of the developed world, our water is perfectly treated and safe to drink. Personally, I don't really like to drink plain water, so the closest I get is to add a little cordial. My wife sometimes buys a small bottle if she needs a drink while we're out shopping or something but I outright refuse to pay for bottled water to drink at home. I already pay through the nose for the perfectly good stuff that comes through the tap.
If you filter water, forget the brand name appliances too, use a 'reverse osmosis' filter as used by some aquarium keepers. This is the most thorough form of filtration available (you could actually filter pee and drink what comes out the other end!!) and works out much cheaper than most of these jug filters people buy.
The environment thing tickles me too. Lots of people bang on about carbon footprints and climate change while drinking water that has been packaged in plastic and shipped hundreds or even thousands of miles, usually by truck! Oh the irony!

I like tap water as long as it's filtered. I use to drink bottled water, but it's expensive and now I'm hearing it harms the environment, because so many don't recycle. Its just not worth it.
Most bottled water is from tap water anyway, they just filter it.

So they say filtered water is better..but even that can be expensive..Somehow I say the best is boil your water from the tap and then bottle it..what do you think?

That always works too, honestly I know a friend of mine does that, and she said it's because she likes the taste the plastic bottles give the water. I think she's nuts personally.

This is a very interesting and touch subject with me at the moment. I love our tap water and drink ice water all through the day. Our great city leaders here ran into a problem with our city water and had to put straight chlorine in the water treatment. That is horrible tasting and the smell is gross. Ok, the chlorine I guess was not enough since last week they come across the TV saying not to use the water, boil it first. Then they said don't boil it and use it either. Ok, everyone hit the stores and bought all the bottled water there was in town and that is a whole lot of water. After my grandson's swimming lesson that evening my husband and I went out of town to buy water and my daughter come thurs. and she brought some also. We couldn't even bath or shower, people could not water their fruit or vegetable gardens either with it. Come to find out the city found out about 3 days before they put out the don't use the water alert they had test come back showing E-Coli, then they changed it to Fecal Coli. They are claiming the fecal coli is caused from all the flooding we have had around here. Our city leaders are getting into big trouble for the late notice to the customers and the head man quit. the city will not be giving discounts for all the hardship they have caused, they said if they give a credit on the bill that they will have to raise the rate to cover it?!?!?! Don't make sense to me. I prefer tap water but am so sick of bottled water, the taste is horrible. I also have found that the cheaper "drinking" bottled water is the best and we get them in a gallon jug. Oh yes, we will be having the chlorine in our water in the excessive amount for at least another month. yucky
