Woah! where is this mountain located? which part of the world? and how high is it above sea level? does it have a volcano? :O these are the questions which come up in my mind while seeing this pic. :) i wanna have answers to these first ;)

This mountain is located in Romania, South-East of Europe. The tallest point of this group of mountains has 2509mt, but the most popular one, who gave his name to the first National Park in Romania (established in 1935) is Retezat and it has 2482mt. Here are 82 of the romanian glaciar lakes, the largest in Romania (8,5ha) and the deepest (29mt). Beside all this, believe me, it's simply WONDERFUL. Other questions are welcome!

I just returned from Tara Hategului a week ago. I helped dig out Upper Cretaceous vertebrate fossils (dinosaurs, crocodiles, lizards, turtles) from sites like Tustea, Valioara, Livezi, Pui and Nalat. While I was there I helped gather the garbage tourists left in The Retezat National Park, so I've seen a bit of The Retezat Mountains too. Great places!
