I have been in a bit of an emotional mood all day today , my friends who read my earlier discussion would be thinking it wasn’t like me to get so upset , Well my friends it was one year ago today my hubby went through his triple heart bypass operation , He had the op and when they woke him up he was really disorientated , he had never had any kind of operation before and when he woke up with a tube in his mouth and he couldn’t talk he panicked , he burst all his stitches and had to be taken back to theatre to remove clots then they sedated him for 5 days so he wouldn’t do it again , he has possibly more operations to go through but has had no more heart pains . I have kept looking at him today and thanking God for giving him back to me. He is my best friend my soul-mate and my first and only love , It is almost 50 years since we met and it will be 46years in October since we were married , I only wish everyone could find someone like him to love , some of you will think I am being really mushy but at this moment in time that is how I feel , take care xxxx

I cannot believe that is a year already wee! I remember coming to see you when you were so worried about him - he really did get everyone a fright! You know what - I would never say that I am glad your lovely other half went through so much but it shows that on my part anyway , every dark cloud has a silver lining! I know it is really selfish but for my part I don't know if I would have gotten so close to you without this happening and I can't imagine you not all being part of the family! Give that adorable guy of yours a big hug from me as well, please! By the way just so you know - Mushy old me is sitting here in tears again thinking of how close we came to losing such a special guy! xxxxx

Hi weemam, I don't think you're being really mushy at all. What a wonderful tribute to your husband. It's very special to see a couple who've been together all of these years, and are still so much in love. Some people never experience anything like this, and others never stop to consider how precious their partner is. I'm so very happy that your husband is doing so well now. Take Care. xxx

WoW, that is so great I hope me and my hubby can last that long. We have that kind of relationship we don't like to agrue and /or bring drama in front of our kids. I'm such a form beleiver of the word RESPECT, and so his he. We've been together for 5 years and just got married 2 weeks ago(almost 2weeks ago). I do pray that we can have a solid relationship that will last for years together. Once again WOW and tell your hubby I said you and him will be in my prayers and stay strong.

Don't feel embarrassed to be feeling mushy weemam, I think it's just wonderful that you are feeling that way, and glad that you could share your joy with us here. You and your hubby are very rare people these days to still be together after such a long time, and to be still in love. My hubby and I have known each other for 43 years, (married for 42), and I feel the same about him as you do about your hubby. I'm glad also that your hubby's health is good after such a scare a year ago weemam. Congratulations to you both, may you have many more years ahead of you!

I think that the love for your husband is great, I too feel this way about mine. I thank God every day for having such a wonderful man in my life. Every day we say I love you too each other, especially when we leave for work, I always want him to remember that those were the last words out of my mouth in case something unforseen might happen.

Wow--this was such a lovely discussion to read, and you're so lucky that not only have you known your hubby for fifty years, been married forty-six, but you still have him despite his operation of last year. It's wonderful to read when two people do stay together for so long....I'm still waiting for my soul-mate..could happen...no? And, no, you're not being mushy! :)

Wow! Please allow me to say, CONGRATULATIONS & I do admire you both for keeping your marriage for 46yrs. It's a big achievement! I am praying for more wonderful years in your marriage life as well as to my parents! They are already in their 32nd yrs of marriage while we (hubby & I) are on our 4th month.*smile* So far, we are doing great. There are slight differences and adjustments but we always sit down and talk about it. I am also looking forward to a lasting marriage just like you and my parents have. Happy 46th anniversary in advance to you and your beloved husband!

Oh, weemam, You have every right to be emotional. Be as mushy as you like. Just because I had 2 failed marriages and the third was an abusive situation (my husband was murdered over 23 years ago) does not mean I am a true romantic (for others). I think you have the best thing possible. Would that there more marriages like that. God has blessed both of you.

Hope you are feeling better and well now. Anniversaries are always more sentimental, I understand, especially when it brings back memories. I cannot help but envy you so lovely and dovey after 50 years. My first love relationship did not survive beyond two years. lol.

Hi weemam! I am so happy to know that both you and your husband have survived that ordeal and learning that the two of you have been married for 46 years is something that makes anyone feel so good about love and marriage. I am married with my husband for 7 years now but we are together for 20 years already. i love him and he loves me just as much...but I am hoping and praying that I will reach your 46 years and counting in marriage. Thank you for sharing us your happiness in love. I am getting mushy too. LOL! Have a nice day and God bless you and your husband!
