Why do you listen to Gospel Music

I'm asking because a lot of people have been listening to Gospel music bcos they are being told to,or some listen cos they think secular is wrong and Gospel is the other option.I wanna know how many people are convinced about what they listen to.

I listen to gospel becos to me it soothes myspirit and calm my soul. if i am feeling down I listen to a good praise and worship until praises begin to burst forth.
I listen to gospel becos as a minister ofg gospel (singer) I love to listen to others and note their ranges and how the really sing and worship. It helps me to sing better and minister better in songs to people. I learn new songs this way too.

Here is my view as a sure person.We all need conviction about what we do,what we say,what we listen to.Because,when we give our lives to Jesus we are signing a contract of getting reborn,you either decide to endure or give it up.It is a process.
We were all born in filth,fed with filth,and probably produced filthy thangs.What we feed our spirit is very important.It is for the spirit man to grow and mature.Music is more than what you think it.It is a supernatural rythm designed to soothe a desire in us,even GOD.When you listen to music,be sure it is right for your edification.
Also,know that every music is backed up by a spirit.To discern what spirit to choose is wisdom.

Gospel music uplifts my spirit and blesses my soul. I love listening to it especially early in the morning. i recommend it to people who are down in the spirit.

I love listening to gospel music, especially when I face some difficulties and problems in life. The words that I hear gives me inner peace and security. It also gives me inspiration to pursue in life no matter what it takes, for I know God never fails His promises. :-)

There are different types of Gosple music. I feel better & more encorouged to move forward in life. I feel happy of who I am & what I do. I feel there should not be any reason for hearing Gosple Music. God Bless... Best of Luck. :)

i listen to both secular and gospel. i listen to gospel when i'm in a prayer mood while when i just want to listen to secular, sometimes love songs, other times R& B and pop. that doesn't mean i've lost track of my faith. however, it depends on the opinion of the individual and what he/she favours.

I listen to gospel music sometimes because it makes me feel good. There are some songs I like, some I don't. I don't listen to anything because I am told to.

Hello there. I do have a few Christian albums. I like to listen to them once in a while. Listening to them gives me peace and reassurance that God is always here for all of us. I do listen to secular music too and i think there's nothing wrong with it. However, i do not enjoy music that talks only about adult contents.

welcome to mylot! people simply to choose what may be pleasing to their senses initially. then, awakening comes after or may be not to some. people are always in search, they not be conscious of this reality, but our souls long for comfort. man tries to seek for answers. whether they choose the Gospel songs or some other types of so called "secular" music, it is not a choice per se of the person but it is the spirit within us that has kept these people on listening. although i agree with you that some may have been imposed on but in time, the spirit within will choose. many thanks, perry

I like listening to different kinds of music. I listen to gospel music to sing praises to God, or I'm going through a hard time or just because I like it.

I listen to gospel music because I feel so at peace when I do and I like it! I also feel that it uplifts me when I am sad or depressed and it always touches my soul.
I have a good friend who sings gospel music and is well known throughout the gospel community (esp. southern gospel) and I really love his music so I listen to it just because of who he is and what he stands for!

I listen to gospel, but not all the time. I also like Christian rock/rap and Messianic music with some Christian Native American and I listen to it because I like the music.

hi there! :) I listen to Gospel music because they uplift my spirit. In times when I am really down, I listen to these songs because they give me strength. Actually, it depends on the person what a certain song affect his/her system.

I listen to Gospel music because it helps me throughout my day. Basically Gospel music gives me solace and takes me away from all the negativity in the world. Plus if you are religious there's a real connection.
