Do you keep a diary?

I remember way back when I was a kid and I had one of those pink diaries with the lock that I got from the Hallmark store. Did you have one of those? The pages were so small I could barely write in them and half the time I had nothing to say.
But last year I had some things going on in my life that were stressing me out so one day I started journaling on my laptop in MS Word and I have it saved on a jump drive. I guess you could call it a diary but I suppose the proper word is journal. I think it makes me feel better when things are going wrong to write about the people, places, and events of my life. Sometimes I go back and read what I have written to see what was going on back then.
Do you keep a journal? Why? What sorts of things do you write about?

i remember having a little diary somewhat like that. i didn't use it much because i hated writing so small and i took up too many pages for one day. i used to keep a journal on tablet paper when i was a teenager. its funny to read back through them sometimes and see how i thought back then. i haven't kept one in a long time, but i've thought about starting up again. it does seem to be a good stress reliever to vent all your feelings on a piece of paper.

Yes, I had one, lock and everything. Actually I still have it..I have looked at it and it is funny to see what was important to me then. I don't keep one now, but I think I should. I have written poems but haven't kept a journal. Now with the computer it would be so easy to do it. That way, when I am old, I will have something to read while I am sitting in my rocking chair..lol..I need to keep track of the things my grandsons do during the time we spend together..I think I will start there..thank you for this inspiration.
