Are you contented with your life right now?

What brings contentment? is it the achievement of your goals and ambitions? does man ever get contented with the things that he has now? the bible says that contentment is a gift from God and grows out of having His perspective on life.
Philippians 4:12-13, NIV says, "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
But honestly, I am not yet contented with my life right now. There are still a lot of things that I want my family to have. that includes a good life. by that i mean a house that we own because we are just renting an apartment. a family business so that my mom wouldn't have a hard time with her job. she works almost all day and barely gets enough rest. i wanna have a stable job so i can help my family. and there are a lot of things that i still want to achieve. i don't know when i'm gonna be contented with my life...

I think regardless of our age we will always want, wish and dream, but can achieve contentment through God, love,peace of mind, and accepting that the best is yet to come.Patience,God, and Love are the keys.

As of right now I'm not fully content with my life. Of course, I'm still young and I have a lot to do but I just feel like I still want more. You know what I mean? I think a lot of it is that a couple months ago I ended my longterm relationship. He made me feel like I had found what I wanted in life and that was love. Unfortunately we're not together anymore but I'm looking for the guy who is right for me so maybe I will be content.

Well they say life begins at 40 and I have to agree. I have just finished my degree and got a 2.1 so I can now go on to do a teacher training course for a year.
My partner has just landed a great job with more money. My daughter has just started a course in a top London hairdressers and my son is talented in art, music and is about to start his GCSE's.
I have had it rough to a certain extent in the past, but as a family we have never given up, strived for our goals and now they are finally paying off. I could not be more contented!!
I hope your dreams come true for you and your family, it can be done!!!!:0)

I'm always contented with my life. Otherwise you'll never be happy. So even when things are down i find something to be content with because I just need something. And...the bible says a lot of things since, after all, it is a book. I don't mean that in a rude way...it's just a fact that it's a book and so it says stuff.

Me too, I am not yet contented with my life though I am happy with what I have now but I am always searching and looking for something that I could contribute to my parents even though they don't ask anything from me except of keep on telling me of their wishes like to be always happy and taking good care of myself. I am the only child they have but I move to the city to take for another challenge in life. I usually call them or send them SMS everyday. Hopefully, I could still find a way in having the business i really want to have. I just hope also that i could find a job that i could earn and save more for my business dream. Because I believe having that would really a big help for me and my family. They were already old enough that I wanted them to make happy. Maybe with that, would really makes my life complete. Sharing the blessing with them and to support other people who really are in need of help.

yeah me too i'm happy with what i have but i still want to make my parents happy because they deserve it. i'm not the only child. i'm the eldest. i have a younger brother. so i want to help them support my brother in his schooling. and i want them to have a better life. that would make me contented. =)

my situation is similar to yours.the difference is that i know through my hard work,my family and i are going to lead a better life.and i believe you can too.good luck!no matter what happens,just keep in mind that you should move on,and the better life is in the hand.

Hi josan181237! This is just my opinion and view about contentment and I know it may differ from you or from others. I am contented in my life...I am at peace with what I have right now, I came to terms that at the moment this is what I have and can achieve...however, when I say I am contented it doesn't mean I would stop dreaming and don't have any desires to have a more quality of life. Just like you, I wanted a good life for my family and would really want to support my father in his old age, I want to help my nieces in their education...but these desires or goals if not met would make me discontented but would make me to dream more and work harder and pray harder.
