Are Beijing taxis really getting better?
I visited the city last year and again this summer. I stayed at the same hotel both times. Last year, not a single taxi driver could find the hotel (one even had to call the hotel to ask directions). This year, none of the drivers got lost. I also had no problems with drivers trying to take me for an extra long ride for a few extra yuan (I wish the drivers in Shenzhen were that good). Is this change only for the Olympics? Will the drivers still be good after the games?

Hello laowai friend. I am glad that you have found some changes in Beijing about taxicabs and the taxi-drivers.
I think that this is required by the local government to make improvements. The 2008 Olympics really help a lot in improving a lot of infrastuctures in the city. I feel very happy to know this. Of course it will be the same after the Games.
