rain has been continously falling these past few days here in our place and so i always end up wet, cold and shaky after work while commuting for home.
usually during this kind of weather, i always crave for hot soups, like chicken soup, mushroom soups of any kind of food that has soups.
really, it feels great to have you stomach fill with delicious soups especially when its cold and you feel sleepy.

I would love a bowl of macaroni soup when it's raining hard outside. Hmmmmmm... wonderful! Also, champorado and coffee would be lovely! It's so nice to curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee with some biscuits too...

Yeah, definitely something warm and cozy. Plus your partner beside you just sitting or lying quietly talking about nice plans. *LOL*
Yeah a good book or easy-read magazines are good too. Plus the worry-free day of not needing to go to work. *LOL*
But if you have to work! Whew! definitely a mood-spoiler specially if you need to go out and do something required by the boss you hate!
Whew!

I like to eat champorado for breakfast or soups to make my stomach warm. Chocolate drinks too while eating bread or cookies. Noodles also is yummy on a cold day.

Yeah, champorado or chocolate porridge is good too. But I prefer arroz caldo or lugaw or porridge with chicken meat (chinese style) when it rains hard.
=)
Specially when there's a side dish of tokwa (bean curd) or century eggs. *LOL*
YuM yUm!
=)
Hot choco is good too. Too bad it has a lot of bad cholesterol in them.
Plus of course, nothing beat a lot of hugs when it pours outside.
=)

well this same here with me i like to take much food than in dry season. it because our body react from cold weather, it needs foods to neutralize our body temp. while in hot day we drink so many glasses of water because its hot. still i eat too not hot soup in hot day, i like ice cream but the milk content make our body warm too.

When the rain is pouring and it is very cold and I am inside the house I always want to eat a new and hot cooked unripe banana with "bagoong" salty fish. That is the food we used to eat back in my province when it is raining. It is somehow a relief of the cold weather. I miss eating it so much.

i would eat hot and creamy macaroni soup or beef stew. When staying home because of the hard rain or typhoon you must have lots of food, especially soups.

When it is raining hard I love to eat a Cornish Pasty. Actually it's raining now. Cornish Pasties are very fattening so I don't eat them too often.
Here is a recipe for it:
CORNISH PASTIES
PASTRY:
4 cups flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups lard, chilled (3/4 lb) cut into ¼ inch cubes
8-10 tablespoons ice water
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
FILLING:
1 cup coarsely chopped white, yellow, or Swede (Rutabaga) turnips
2 cups finely diced lean boneless beef, top round or skirt steak. Flank would be good, too.
1 cup coarsely chopped onions
2 cups finely diced potatoes
1 ½ tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
To make pastry, rub together flour and fat to make a coarse meal. Add 8 tablesppons ice water all at once. If dough crumbles, add more water. Refrigerate to rest one hour before rolling out.
Roll dough to a circle ¼ inch thick and cut into 6 inch rounds. Re-roll and scraps and cut into additional circles.
To prepare filling, cut ingredients into uniformly small pieces. It's important to have the potatoes and the meat cooked during the same time period since they will be cooking together, so cut to appropriately sized cubes to effect that end result.
Combine ingredients in a bowl to mix evenly. Put ¼ cup of the mixture into the center of a rolled out pastry.
Moisten pasty edges, fold in half, and crimp to seal. Place on a buttered baking sheet and brush lightly with egg wash. Make 2 slits in each pasty to allow steam to escape.
Bake at 400 degrees F 15 minutes, reduce heat and continue at 350 degrees F until golden.
Serve hot or cold.
A fun idea for preparing these is to use two kinds of filling in each pasty – one sweet and one savory. For example, put an apple filling on the right half. Eat your way through from dinner to dessert! To identify which side is which, initial one side to indicate its contents.

Steps:
1. Cook rice in a medium size sauce pan with water

this gets me to remember eating of noodles and other soups plus the delights of fried rice, salted dried fish and a glass of orange or mango juice :) it is really good to eat during this time you know :) but then the side effect would be too much weight gain hehe. but anyway, just do the control and you will enjoy this occasion.
