People only read the opening line.

I read all the posts i think if your gonna answer posts you might aswell read the rest too.

Actually I do take time to read the whole post. So I can give a real answer. And after I post I usually read the other responses just to see if my views are shared by anyone... But I think we have all read the post that make little to no sense to the started thread.

I read all of the original post, but I find that others do not. There are times when by their response, I find they assume something that I did not say. I also noticed it a few times when I go back to another's post and read the responses just in case I might have something to add. Sometimes, some people take a while to give their point in their post and go into detail, so it is not right to rush through it and read it thoroughly. I do not go into such detail --I like to get to the point, but even then I get a wrong assumption.

I see this happen so often, even when I read responses to others I realize that they did not see what the post was actually about. Or if they do not read the whole thing they take a remark the persin has made the wrong way.

I always read the entire discussion. I had a friend once start a discussion with a fake topic, then a totally different body of the post. It was really funny to see how many people answered based only on the topic alone. I had the most answers like that on my "do you bite your tongue" discussion. So many people saying how bad it hurts...lol.
