Do you think comitting suicide is a crime ? Many people comit it due to various reasons like depression, lack of good health etc. What are your comments on this.

To kill is a crime, therefore to kill one's self is a crime.

I personally dont think it should be considered a crime in fact I think thats absolutely absurd to be honest with you....What makes the courts/legal system etc think they should be allowed to punish someone for being severely depressed? What good would that serve? How would that help the one wanting to die? Rather than wasting money and time on charging etc ppl who've tried to kill themselves and just adding to their plate, why not spend that money getting failed attempters the bloody help they need?!

As I understand it, it is illegal in most if not all of the US. I actually had a friend a few years back who was charged & fined after he was released from the hospital after an attempt. I don't think that happens very often at all, but it is illegal. Although I want for people to get the help they need, I don't think it should be a 'crime' per say. Depression is a very real disease, we can't judge a person who's going through pain like that. There are also people who are terminal with other diseases, who are in great amounts of physical pain, perhaps not even able to eat without assistance. If they wish to shorten their suffering, again I don't think we have any right to judge them.
