Well, we've all known that Alan Smith has officially left the Red Devils and joined the Magpies. Knowing that Smith has been a very popular figure in both the dressing room and the United fans, now we can confirm that Sir Alex has acknowledged that he was sad to see Smith leave the club. According to the official United website: http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid={B4CEE8FA-9A47-47BC-B069-3F7A2F35DB70}&newsid=461652
How do you think Smith will fare in the new season with Newcastle? Do you think he has gone to the right club? It will be interesting to see him in black and white stripes against the United boys.

Are you a Newcastle United fan? Yes i agree that Alan Smith will be a very useful addition to the Magpies this season. It has been unfortunate that Smith is an 'addition' to the current Man Utd squad, considering the number of strikers they've had now. Did you watch the Magpies' game last weekend? What is your view of Smith's performance? i should think that he played pretty well. One cannot doubt his workrate for the team, even in the area of defence. Comparing him and Michael Owen, i'll like to think that Smith will become a more useful player in the overall season, considering Smith's utility (he could play as striker as well as in midfield), his workrate (more than Owen!), and injury frequency (Owen is too injury-prone).
