To smoke or not to smoke.....

I'm just curious as to how many my lotters on here smoke cigarettes, cigars or any form of tobacco products. Also i would like to know how many do not.. I personally and in the smoking criteria and i hate the idea but enjoy a good cigarette. I go in and out of smoking phases and it drives me nuts. I smoke, then i quit for a while then i smoke and then quit for a while... It goes on and on like this for a long time. I wish i could find a way to quit for good, or go back in time and beat myself up as I'm about to light that first one up. Anyway, i still want to know who here is a tobacco consumer and who is not, so let me hear it.

I've never smoked (save for the odd herb, if you know what I mean). I just don't care for the smell that it leaves on you. I'm not one of those non-smokers who believes it should be banned or anything. I have no problem with someone smoking when I'm around although I don't like it when my kids are present.

I am not a smoker. I just never had the urge to try it as a teen so i was lucky enough to escape the habit. my husband wasn't so lucky. he was one who smoked to be "cool" and now has spent the last 7 years trying to quit. He has been going back and forth for a long time. Hopefully soon he'll be able to quit completely and for good.

well hes lucky that you don't smoke, it makes things easier. The longest time i quit was foiled by my former significant other who still smoked. Its much easier to quit when you don't have to be around it often. Avoid the temptation, most quiting attempts are terminated in there infancy due to "temptation" of those you spend the most time with that smoke.

Hi Socorban Unfortunately I was and am among the smokers here...and have tried all there was to try and still am nowhere near quitting :( Next thing I will give a try is the laser therapy, and this time I will do all my best to finally quit, as I really have to due to my asthma, and my partner has to quit too but he will not unless i quit, so here is a real MUST DO for me, and hope you'll be able to get off the smikes too :)& good luck to us!

Lasers huh? Sounds kinda scary.... What do they do? Im curious as to what a laser can do to help me quit. Do they put you in a room and zap you for reaching for the cigs in the corner?

Hi Soccorban LOL, and no, it doesn't hurt at all, I've been told. They place you in a nice chair, and the tip of the laser point goes on a specific spot on one of your ears. It takes between 30 and 45 minutes per session. After I have tried this myself I'll be able to tell you more :)

I don't smoke. Never have, never will. I find it pointless.

I do not smoke, never have and never will. I find it to be rather disgusting, but when you in a apartment above a person who is a chain smoker and that smell lingers on up into your aparatment... it is disgusting to smell it when you are trying to sleep and it creeps up the stairs.

I dont have the habit of smoking or any other related habit. I have been brought up in a family where nobody smokes and so even I am. Even after knowing the bad effects of smoking, I wonder how many can still continue smoking. I know its there freedom to smoke, then I think freedom should not spoil the health.

Count me as another smoker who's trying to quit. I'm not doing any effort though, but I want to minimize the number of sticks I consume each day. My parents still doesn't know I smoke (and I don't want them to know) so I can force my self to stop smoking whenever I come home. I know I should try to put more efforts into quitting, but heck, im enjoying it.

After 40 years of smoking, I quit a few months ago. I used the patch and even then it was very difficult. I have had a couple of small setbacks but have so far managed to pick up and keep going with it. You have to really, really really really want to.

Yea i never realized how weird smoke smells until i quit for a long time. It is a rather odd aroma isn't it? I usually carry some sort of cologne with me and have developed ways to smell less smoky as well. I know i should just quit and be done with it but its easier said than done.

I want to quit really bad. My goal is to be smoke-free by my 25th birthday. This gives me exactly 4 months to gradually cut back. I'm determined!!

People says that smoke is cool but not really is really bad for your health and people. It make you spend alot of money for a year and one way to stay cool is not smoke.

I triede it once when I ws about 17 hated it and thought it was disgusting. Everytime IU see a cig I refer to it as cancer stick. The best bay to stop is to get help whether by going to the health food store and pick put herbal remedies or go to your doctor. Good luck

I am non-smoke. I know quiting smoking is difficult but think of your future and your love ones. If you smoke and die earlier, isn't it too pity. If you smoke and your love ones gets second hand smokes, how much loves do you have for them?
