Well, let's just say that my psychic said that I have about 25-30 years left of life which is fine by me. I see alot of changes happening...some are good and some I don't think are...so I guess we'll see where it all goes. I bet my Grandparents and Great Grandparents felt the same way.
!!HAPPY EASTER!!

Well, I think there's pretty much something every generation or century at least goes through.
Look at the 50's when ppl went nuts building fallout shelters b/c they were so sure that Russia was going to drop a bomb on us (I think it was Russia), long before that it was the Civil War and the fighting between the North and South, there was the Slavery period, and in the 60's families were tore apart during what is called the Hippie era...make peace not war.
I think we have our fair share in this time but we're certainly not the first and many probably thought that their time was terrible and that the changes the country was going through were outlandish but in truth it's a matter of evolution.
Some of the changes are very hard for me to accept and therefore I'm glad I don't have to worry about spending 50 or 75 years living with them but at least I'll get to see some and who knows what ppl are going to come up with next.

heck yeah!! We have had more freedoms taken AWAY from us in the last decade than I can even imagine. "Patriot Act" is no more than giving the government the right to spy on its citizens.
The country is run by politicians, and that's the problem. Politicians are crooked. They are swayed by money and they are OUT OF TOUCH with reality. This country is only steps away from a tyranny. But since we get to vote, we feel placated. But do we? Are elections rigged by "faulty" equipment?President Clinton was impeached over a bl@w job. President Bush has started a useless war on unfounded "data", has manipulated the supreme court, has LIED to the people... and has pardoned criminals? Why hasn't he been impeached? And who's lining up to take his job? Do we really have anyone who can turn this country around?
And when you take away the politicians, the people who live in this country are so used to abundance, that the idea of taking it away seems horrid. We are ruining this planet. WE ARE. Developed countries are gluttonous and use and TAKE resources from other countries. Our need for SUVs is causing global warming. Our need for consumer crap is cutting down rain forests and killing habitats of precious species. Our need for tourism is trampling down mother nature. We are a gluttonous, destructive, throw away society, and it's really sad. So not only do we live a sustainable life for ourselves, but we depend on greedy, lazy imbeciles to make decisions for our entire country...

Fantastic answer. I couldn't have said it better myself. One area of technical disagreement though. Our country isn't run by politicians--they're puppets to corporations and old money.
I'm voting for Ron Paul and I strongly advocate everyone reading Lee Iacocca's book "Where have all the leaders gone?"

You already know my concerns.

Indeed, I know we share the same beliefs. I'm just hoping to see some responses.
