I do talk to myself.Mostly when I go out to banks.I rehearse to my self how much to deposit or withdraw from each bank and calculate how much will be the balance in hand. Many a times my wife used to give me a bewildered look when I say "nothing" to her asking me what are you talking. She is so kind not letting me know whatever she is thinking of me.

I am sitting here right this very moment trying to talk myself into going to bed, as I haven't been there yet this evening. It has been 12 hours since I have slept, no wonder I am talking to myself. My grama always said, "you can talk to yourself, but make sure you don't answer yourself." I have no idea what I am talking about. I do talk to myself, but I don't think I talk outloud. Nobody listens to me around here anyway so it wouldn't matter if I talked outloud or not..lol....they just roll their eyes at me..It is okay, I am used to it...lol

There coming to take us away ha-ha...think we're all a bit looney at times...did you know that if you question your sanity, then it is usually a good sign you're not mental..it's the people who think they're perfectly normal you have to watch out for..LOL
Yup-do talk to myself, usually mainly at home, and I'm very verbal at times at the computer...I also will talk to myself well, inwardly when I'm out and I'm trying to psyche myself up for something I'm not accustomed to doing...You better believe I talked a lot to myself last year when my still living mom and I had to appear at court (long story)--and going to court situations is very stressful believe me

it's never tue that it's the first sign of madness. i often do this when i make a mistake which i think isn't good. i often think of how i could have avoided this and if this involves some physical actions, i sometimes use my hands or part of the body to do some illustrations, how it could have been. sometimes when i get very angry i do talk aloud.

Yes, i do, a lot. sometimes it goes to extent of talking aloud, me playing the part of both on the conversation. lol..i guess, being a introvert person , this kinda helps in letting out my thought processes. sometimes its fun aswell. its like playing chess alone..lol..

Hi Calais, I talk to myself, sometimes I have entire conversations with myself. I just that I understand myself better than anyone else. Ussually I dont do it outloud though, I just keep it to myself. Of course some of the more stupid things I say to people sounded alot funnier when I said them in my head and than didnt come out right. Than again, I never said that I wasnt crazy to begin with. lol. Take care, Terry

Generally I like silence, so I don't talk to myself:)
But since my sister is on holiday, my rat seems to be so sad and I discovered, that my rat miss our conversations. It always looks at me when I'm taliking with someone, it is more lively and willing to move and play with me, if I talk to her.
So untill my sister is away I have to talk to my rat, so somehow to myslef LOL
Now I try to read aloud what I'm writting and what I'm reading here on mylot hehe

Yes of course I do, and me , I do to, and I do as well. I always talk to me and my little friends in my head.
Just kidding, I tend to talk out loud to myself more so when I am cross at something I did, I call myslef idiot a lot or stupid. Also counting out loud seems to be a habit of mine, now whether or not I am mad is another story.... I laugh at myslef too.

Hi. Im not one to go around the place talking to myself out loud... I have seen an aunty talk to herself, and a couple of times I thought she was talking to me, when I go to say, pardon what was that, and she would look at me strange like Im hearing things lol... My poor aunt, I think that was the signs of her loneliness...

Wonderful discussion. Yes I do talk to myself when I want to be prepared for something. It can be an interview, or something I want to make it clear to somebody etc.. i feel that it helps in preparing oneself.

I talk to myself all the time. I am wondering when someone is going to commit me to a looney bin. I will be eagerly wanting to go these days!

I do talk to myself. My mother does it too. I don't think talking to myself can be regarded as crazy. Talking to myself is a way for me to communicate aloud with myself. This is because even if I am quiet, I communicate in my heart with myself. So if I say it aloud, it doesn't make any difference.

Yes we all do it!! I find my self talking to my self all the time. Usually when everyone else is sleeping. I talk about what needs to be done like dishes, laundry, cleaning, appointments. I guess if I say it out loud I will remember.

Hello Calais yes i have heard that too - the first sign of madness is talking to yourself thing, but then i have been talking to myself even before i heard and i continue to do so even after i heard it LOL. Talking to ourselves i guess helps a lot to clear the clutter in the brain! i even laugh when iam alone though i dont talk aloud i do tell myself 'wtf were you thinking' most times LOL

If talking to oneself is, as they say, the first sign, than I'm completely and utterly nuts, lol! You should hear me chattering away to myself if I'm working on something important in the shed, and putting together a cupboard or whatever else requires a little bit of concentration. At least I answer myself, lol! Oh, now I guess I'll have to wait until I'm doing it again to see if I use two different voices! Now that would be madness, so I wouldn't be surprised to find myself doing that either, lol!

I talk to myself a lot, but usually not aloud. It's not a sign of madness if you are a sane person. They say that we all have 2 voices in our head, one voice is "yes" and the other is "no", or "bad fairy" and "good fairy", or "logic" and "illogical", or "rational" and "irrational". I believe this to be very true!
