I just had to tell you all what I saw today , Hubby and I dropped Ross off at the gym this morning at 9 , It was a really wet and miserable morning so we decided not to go too far , we went to Cumbernauld just off the M8 motorway , I went to my usual Poundland shop ( I love that shop)
Anyway on the way back on the motorway again it was quite horrible with all the big tucks kicking up the wet and the dirt , My hubby started to laugh and said to me to look at the car opposite me and one behind , There was a big articulated truck and following it was a wee sports car , I think it was an MG , it had the top off , it was raining as I said and all the wash was coming on them from the truck , It just looked so mad , the couple were sitting with jackets on , she had a headscarf and he had a peaked cap , the windscreen wipers were going and no roof , can you just picture it , ?
Is everyone in this world going mad , ? what pleasure were they getting from their car ?, they must have been going quite a way as the went right on to the M9 , madness lol . pure madness xxxx

Hey Doll,
Some years ago when I was waitressing at a very nice restaurant one of our patrons passing through had his top stolen while he was eating. Now this was a very nice area with vallets to park your car for you. It was determined that someone parked on the other side of the wall..hopped over..grabbed the top and handed it over the wall...The car was a corvette with a removeable hard top.
This guy and his friend were 3 hours from home and had to be back that night for work the next day and you guessed it...It was raining like mad!!!
Have a great day Sis

Well, I wonder if their top just got stuck that way, and would not go back up? It might also be that they were determined that they would drive on out of the weather and did not want to stop in the rain to put the top up. It must have been funny to see, I am sure.

LOL...that is so funny.
But, you never know..they may have started out with the top down and it started to rain..and maybe the top stopped working...and there they were...top down..stuck in the rain..but that wouldn't account for the rain wear and scarf would it? You never know...

That's hilarious, I can picture them getting soaked and splashed with mud. Their convertible roof must have been stuck or something.. or like you said they were a bit mad maybe? LOL

Oh yes, you laid out a perfect picture and it is so funny. I can just picture them now sitting in the car, top down and all yucky dirty from the road dirt splashed up on them. I wonder if their top was broken or what?? To me it would have been good idea to leave the car home or go somewhere for cover until the rain was over with.
Thank you for the wonderful visuals. And thank you for my morning laugh. hahahaha

How did they clean out the car, I wonder? Surely it would be a mess! It would take days to dry out - and what about rust? I would think water would get in so many crooks and crannies. Is rust a problem over there?
We have to ask what was so urgent they HAD to get there, regardless of the consequences, and did they or didn't they have a top in working order? Surely no one would be so stupid as to do such a thing just to show off?
I don't know if I'd be shaking my head in amazement or laughing - or possibly a combination of both.

You do have to wonder at what some people were thinking when you see something like this. I am not familiar with the motor ways in Great Britten. but if they are like the big highways we have here it is difficult if not impossible to pull over and safely put up a top of a car. When some one has a breakdown there is a traffic line up for miles, most of the bridges have tow trucks parked at both ends during rush hour traffic, just in case there is a breakdown. And we do not have the problems you experience over there. With the area being small and the car owners and drivers being massive, I have heard it described as a slow moving parking lot. I am so glad I do not own nor drive a car. I have the public transport drivers to do that,

we have a red extra lane that no one travels on pal , it is an emergency lane and they could have gone in there , if there is an accident the emergency services can go right past all the traffic in that lane , they could have stopped there and put the hood up , our roads are really quite good around here , I just wish I had taken my camera with me lol xx

No more outings for you, weemam. You bring back stories that make me laugh so hard my side aches. LOL I am sure that was a sight to see. It would have been great if you had captured it on video or with a camera.

That is hysterical. Go figure. It like someone in mcdonalds, who weighs over 300lbs, they order a meal and super size it, and then order a diet soda. I see things all the time, that don't make sense. You sit there, scratching your head, trying to figure it all out.

That image definitely made me smile. I wonder though if that couple weren't out there enjoying life a little. Once in awhile people should realize that clothes can be dried and cars are just machines. Today will be a special memory to ha couple that they will always have together.

That's a very funny story, weemam. Maybe they just love the wet weather, but I can't imagine driving around in it with the top down. Then again, you know what they say, "It takes all kinds of people..."
