Anyone familiar with timeshare program? Is this program worth to join? There are many timeshare company coming up. I have heard that after you join the timeshare program it is still diificult to make room reservation. Some people said you need to make reservation at least 6 mth before. Is that exagerating or is that the ugly truth?

If you want to buy one the best advise I can give is make sure that you can exchange you week for another. In buying a timeshare you are buying one week out of the year at a resort. If you don't have exchange capability you are stuck with that resort and yes it can be difficult to get the week you want. I use RCI for exchange. This gives me points for the week I have and I can use those points to buy into another resort any where in the world that is available. Only way to go. But only buy a timeshare through resale. You will pay a fraction of the original cost. Just use the keyword "timeshare resale" and you will find more than you care to look at. Of course I have three I would love to sell you. LOL Do you like Las Vegas, Hawaii, or Branson, Mo? Well have I got a deal for you. *smile*

Timeshare can be an afforttable way to own a vacation home, before you buy, you should be able to answer YES to all of this questions: Are you positive you want to spend all your vacations there? Have you visited the facility? Are you satisfied with its quality? Have you talked with some long time owners at this timeshare facility? Can you affort both the facility and the round trips travel cost every year? The reservation timeframe is diferent on every company, but YES some of them you have to make your reservation at least 6 mth before.
